Suddenly no power to motherboard, IO boards or display. I changed both power supplies, changed the three IO boards, even changed the display panels. Even changed board from working machine. Both power supplies came from working machines. Ideas

Try disconnect8ng the ballasts on your lighting. Make sure you unplug from the input and not the output

is the power cable coming into the machine good? plug a lamp into the service outlet, that will tell you are getting power into the machine. probably the on/ off switch harness or something like that has come undone, power comes into the machine, goes to the service plug and to the terminal strips, one hot and one neutral, from there it goes to the on/off switch, from there it goes to the power supply, pins 21 and 24, then the power supply puts out the voltage to run the machine.

Hi Jim,
Thanks ! Service plug is fine, registering 110. Checked and reset the harness plugs, all fluorescent lights are working. I seem to remember from a service manual that there are 2 or 3 fuses somewhere. Either 10 or 15 amp somewhere near power supply. Are there fuses and could that be the problem ?

Is this an enhanced (1270) MPU? There are two 15 amp fuses on the mother board if so.

Yes, it is an enhanced (1270) board. Thought I remembered something about fuses. Hey, at 74 I guess I get "senior moments"

Quite honestly fuse(s) usually aren't the problem. I just got lucky on this one. After all it is St. Patty's Day.

My gues would be plugging or unplugging something with the machine turned on. BV jam is another possibility

You know I did notice that the tips of the fuse were really black. I'm wondering if it was loose for some reason and was arcing until it finally blew. Just a thought as I really don't know why ? I always turn off machine before touching anything ( learned my lesson many years ago.

) BV was and is working fine so really have no idea, but thanks to you guys it is up and running.

Denny,

Here's one thing you can check. The button panel harness usually has wiring for 2 additional buttons. Four wires total for each button. The red wires are +13v & should have a black boot on the unused ones to prevent them from grounding out while the power is on. Electrical tape will suffice if the boots are missing.

Ron,
Finally got to check the wiring, as you said. It all looks OK, but you know there is so much damn wiring in these 2000"s I guess it could be a crimped or bare wire anywhere. As of now it is working just fine, so thanks to all you guys.
