Slot arm not activating reels

I have a S2000 Super Stars 4 reel the slot handle will not activate/ spin the reels when i pull the handle. I have checked the solenoid and the micro switch and they both have continuity. When i hit the play button i hear the solenoid click and i can pull the handle but no spin when i hit the spin button the reels spin. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what i check next. I know the lever is activating the switch because i removed the mechanism and checked it. As you can probably tell i am new at this. Thanks

If you're positive the micro switch is good & wired correctly, the next logical thing would be the cabinet I/O that is attached to the side of the MPU housing. I've encountered this once. Had to replace it. First just try re-seating it. Be sure that you don't disconnect or re-connect anything while the power is on.

Okay I will give it a try. Not sure what it looks like but will take a look at what is mounted on the side of the MPU housing. Will update after taking a look. Thanks

I've had to make positioning adjustments on the micro switch before because the handle wasn't able to trigger it. Mighta put a small pad on the arm also, been a long time and don't remember for sure

Hi RB, thanks for the pics, i did reset the I/O and there was no change. Cowboygames i did put a pad on the arm to make sure it contacted the switch. For both of you, i checked the micro switch by activating it manually and got continuity so i figured it was okay do ya'll agree? Micro is wired normally open which i think is correct? Any more ideas as to problem other than replace I/O? Thanks

If it's closing the switch when you pull the handle and still not spinning the reels I would suspect an MPU issue at this point. Unless you want to actually swap the IO card for a test or check the wires from the card socket back to the switch

Hi all, as you probably can tell I am a new member. I have a S2000 and I would like to get a I/O board to see if that corrects my slot handle problem. The p/n on the cabinet I/O is 14930200 I am not sure this is the board p/n from what I read. I see a 75427801, 601 and 631 ending numbers for the boards. Can you tell me what board number is correct and if there are other compatible boards.


I have two IGT machines S2000 and a I Game Cleopatra.

The sticker for the p/n will be on the circuit board. The one one the metal tray is for just the metal tray. The 7801 is for the door IO, so it'll be either a 7601 or 7631

Okay is there a difference in 801 and 631? Where do I find which one I have?

If you can't see it stuck to the circuit board then you'll have to remove the board from it's tray, 4 screws I think, and it will be on the back side. I believe all S2000 cabinet IO boards were the same, but door IO boards had different versions depending on player panel button configuration. If you have 2 S2000 machines, why not swap the board from the other one for a test?

Wires to the switch are connected to N.O. and the COM. connectors.  Correct? Spin button works?

Yes and the spin button works to spin reels. When I use the bet button I here the solenoid engage. Could this be the Cabinet I/O board? If so where can I find it? I think I have been looking for the wrong part number, the metal housing not the board p/n.

it would be a bit of a hack, but you would wire the arm micro switch into the spin reels micro switch. will work if you hit a wall trying to figure it out.
