I determined why the coins where being diverted to the coin tray by the coin mechanism. But haven't figured out how to make the adjustment.
The coins were being pushed to the opposite / right side and dropping through. I determined with the slightest bit of resistance on the coin it would work fine.
So for a quick fix I added some tape and it works most every time.
On the back of the unit is an adjustment with light flexible metal that the coins make contact with. They look like deflectors for other coins, but not sure.

So, looking for solution to slow the coin and or deflect it to the right coin slot. Instead of Blue Tape as that won't last.

Hi Dave, is it missing its magnet.   The empty square socket.  The magnet is to stop ferrous metal slugs but also creates a field of some type that slows correct size coins speed through mech.  I just watch a coin mech vid on you tube explaining magnet.

On main page under products click coin mechs/coin doors, that takes you to another page, on that page select mechanical coin mechs, takes you to another page. On that page select a mech, say US 25 cent mech.  At the bottom of the page for the individual coin mech it will say click for vid on adjusting and explaination of operation. 
Only have to manuveur through 3-4 pages.
