Changing to a R board game from a Standard 1270 legacy

Running into issues trying to set up an R board game.
I have used RBK 0001 to clear ram and to set key.
When I replace the chip and boot I'm getting a "flash authentication error: component SHA-1 Mismatch"
Where do I go from here?

It's a RG000051. My other boards have just an R not RG does that make a difference?
So your telling me the board is bad?

SHA-1 Mismatch means the calculated SHA-1 Checksum does not match the valid checksum for that flash board.  99.9% of the time, it is a bad or corrupt flash board.  I give myself the .1% out clause, but I have never seen a case where a SHA-1 error has fixed itself by changing boot roms or any other part.  Doesn't mean it is not possible, but I have never seen it happen in the 3 years I've been dealing with IGT i960 stuff.

I have 3 other untested R boards and they are doing the same thing. Would a different 1270 make a difference?😭

Good thing you left that .1% I tried a different 1270 board and it came up.
The original 1270 was working in the same machine as a Double triple stars with a legacy adapter. Tried a spare 1270 and it came right up. Go figure.

Wow, there's my .1% chance!!!  It is weird that the other 1270 didn't give you any issues with the legacy adapter.  Wonder what the difference is?

Maybe clear the origional with a 224 chip and legacy adapter, then clear again with a rbk and r board. Worth a try...

Tried that will not work on R board . Still working with no issues with legacy adapter  :Scratch-Head:
Only difference is it is one of the 1270 boards made in Mexico.

I know there are multiple versions of the enhanced board.  Neonkiss ran into an issue with some boards that wouldn't work with the standard I/O cards.  He had to use the ones that come in the black plastic housing with some of his enhanced board.  I'm wondering if there are some minor differences across different PCBA types.  Do all your board have the exact same part number?
