Need help to ID a S+ reel chip SS012286.
I have gone through the game bible, still unable to find.
I have a feeling it's a 2CBP but get no listings at all in the game bible.

I think you have too many digits there.
If your looking at the chip itself it might be mis labeled.

Follow this procedure to validate the chips.

no info on that chip but i have other 5 digit ss chips that were used on AC COIN conversion games.

Agreed. What game do you suspect/think it may go to? I'm guessing you have the chip that was in a board, in a machine....what glass is in the machine?

No machine, came on a spare board.
Just trying to figure out what it is, to label the back up I'm funny that way lol

Do you have a machine you can put it in, to see what chip the machine says it is.

The chip number is contained in the first few bytes of the chip. There is sometimes a title there too.
So if you have the tools to backup the chip then you can see this info.

The chip ID is actually close to the end of the file on an S+ reel chip. Here's a screenshot of a typical ss prom on HxD hex viewer.

well, at least that proves the chip's label isn't a typo.

I don't think it is, they usually start with ST, I think I'll grab an extra board, pop into a machine that will need reset anyway. see what the SP chip is that went with it. Might narrow it down a bit, if it's type specific.

i still think this is an "AC COIN" chip and there would be a special SP chip that goes with it.

it's a 1271

The AC coin machines had animated feature units and wiring mods to the mpu so plug them into a game and see what happens.

I don't have the machine, just the chips, they came on a spare mpu.
Figuring it out is just curiosity, archiving, and self torture lol

I guess there isn't a list of AC Coin chips anywhere, like the IGT S+ game bible list?
