s2000 no power at all

i dont have this game in front of me, its a long distance thing. no power. no displays, no fluorescents, no nothing. 110v service outlet has power, and inside service light is on.  im thinking power supply, maybe bad ballast. besides the fuse inside the power supply, is there another fuse i dont know about? i dont believe there is. but thought i'd check.

A lot of times it is just that the power supply has slipped out of it's holder ans is not making contact with it's plug.

Remove reel #1, slide the power supply on the back wall to the right till it plugs back in, replace reel #1.

If you have a 1270 enhanced MPU there are 2 small fusses on the backplane they look like the little fusses in your car. There is also a breaker on top of the wamm or power distribution box that your power cord plugs into, but I don't think you would get power at the service outlet if that was tripped.

good tip about the PS coming loose, i'll check that.  it not an enhanced board, but thanks to both of you

If none of that works unplug all three ballast on the input side if things come up plug one at a time until you find the bad actor.

And tell your customer to leave it turned off. If it's a ballast dragging it down it'll only make things hot turning it on needlessly

According to another post here by a member you could just throw it away and get another one.  I agree with all mentioned repairs,  Sure it is a easy fix. Seen it many times before in the past.  We are here to help.

the power supply was bad. i unplugged all the ballasts, didnt help. i swapped in another power supply, and the game works. i then plugged in the ballasts one at a time, and so far so good.   i am going to open up the bad one.  the fuse is probably blow, but i wonder why.  the last time i replaced a PS, the PS itself was bad, blowing the fuse.

I do not mean to jump on your post but I am having the same problem.
The machine was on came back a few minutes later and no power at all except the trouble light inside
Replaced the power supply, distribution box, checked the on switch and nothing
Could it be possible that it could be the motherboard?

Did you try unplugging the 3 ballast from the input side?
A bad MPU will usually not put out the florescent lights.
But a bad ballast will shut down the power supply.

Yes I forgot to mention that I unplugged the ballasts

Ok finally fixed it.
It was the big white plug that connects to the power supply.
One of the holders that holds it tight to that frame was loose and because it was in the corner you could not tell that the power supply was not completely connected.
All is well
