Bally E2000 Tilts when started, and reset..

I bought 2 Bally E2310-14 four reel dual progressive machines.. The machine I'm working on has had this tilt issue from day one.. First I thought it was the power supply because of a burnt plug on the power supply.. After repairing the plug and installing a new Power Supply the tilt issue was still there.. I fixed a few other minor problems, but still the tilt still happens.. Finally I decided to pull the MPU from the second machine, it had the exact same software installed as the tilting machine.. Plugged in the second MPU and SURPRISE no tilt  ... I then swapped the software from P1 & P2 on both boards, and my tilts back.. So after making new P1 & P2 eproms and putting back on the 1st MPU that was tilting, reinstalling, and powered up the machine, I get TILT...  I have tested the copied software on the known go MPU and it works great.. I swapped M1, M2, & M3 and they are good.. I replace 3 bad caps on the Tilt MPU, no help.. I've cleaned and re-seated any Eproms in sockets, no help.. When I press the reset button on the hopper I see 8.0.3.0.0.1. in the win meter, then when hit the test button it goes to the normal 71 000 and the lights start flashing and the tilt light comes on.. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the watchdog circuit because on the garbage 803001 number that appears? The problem is on the Tilt machines MPU, but what  ..  I was hoping maybe badbaud might chime.. Hello, Hello...

The first thing I always do is jumper across the contacts of the relay on the MPU board. That gets rid of a lot of tilts.

I know where and what the relay is on the E1000 MPU but where is it on the E2000 MPU?

I don't think Bally used the relay on the E-2000 mpu. They changed the reset circuit design that the relay was part of on the E-1000 mpu.

On the E-2000 mpu some people have said removing R47 or U29 eliminates nuisance resets. U29 and R47 are part of the security RF detect circuit, not something to worry about on a home use machine so disabling the U29 circuit can help reduce nuisance resets.

Oops. Ya there is a different low voltage detect circuit for your board. Replacing CR7 and C9 is how I fixed two of those boards.

I don't see a CR7? Did you mean C7 the .01 mdf. 25v ceramic cap?

CR7 is the 6.1V zener diode.

CR4 is a 6.3V Zener diode and CR1-CR3 are 1N1404 diodes. Those are the only diodes I see listed on the 2000 Series MPU Board part description

The 6.3V version is hard to find.  A 6.1V zener works just fine and they are a dime a dozen.

Ok.. I think this may be solved. From what I've figured out, my problem is with the machines progressive unit setup. I've tested all the software on 3 different good MPU Boards. Everytime I put a different MPU in I got a tilt. Everyone had the same 803001 number in the display. This last time I tried a different MPU I pushed and held the 2 red buttons on the progressive unit, it reset. Now it doesn't tilt on startup, but does when I install a coin. It's time to find my cheat sheet on setting up the progressive unit.
