IGT S+ Error 3100

Hi all,

I know I'm pulling up an older topic but it relates closest to the issue I'm having. I really think the machine I am looking at has the same problem as described above. I did find a green wire with a blue stripe (same color wire that comes in and out of the door optic mounted inside the cabinet) that was kind of tucked in the back of the machine that looks like it should be hooked up to something. It has a spade connector on it but for the life of me I have looked everywhere I can't figure out where it goes. All I know is no matter what I try I still get code 3100. The game originally had bad logic boards and I did get a new set from a place in Toledo called rec room Specialties. I have dealt with them before and they've always been decent. They even sent me a set of optics for the door but to no avail. After I found this thread I started digging around and I did find the green wire dangling but I have dug into this machine everywhere I can't figure out where it plugs in. Does anyone have any clue? It comes out of the harness from a zip tie right behind mechanical counters in the reel section of the game. It looks like it drops down to the lower section and that's the area that I did pull it out from so I don't know if it's for a switch in the bill acceptor box or what but I have not found anywhere I can plug this thing in. I have a feeling my Optics are not working because of this wire dangling. If anyone could peek at their machine for me and let me know where this wire runs down to I would greatly appreciate it!

Welcome to NLG Hemi. When you have the 3100 error, if you open the door does the display go blank for a few seconds and come back on? Or just stay on all the time? If it just stays on and never goes blank, then it sounds like optics as you thought. Open the door on the bill stacker cage (cash can) and see if there are 2 wire hooked up to an optic in there. If so trace them back and see if someone has removed one of the links in the wiring.
