Is logic board/video board death imminent ?

I have a dual screen BB2 that recently starting doing something very weird on start up.   Upon initial startup the top monitor starts off with a white burn-in mark in the center of the screen and explodes outward to each corner of the screen.   After a minute or two the effect dies down and the monitor display looks fine. 


I know it's not the monitor because I've hooked up a computer on a cold start and it looks fine from a PC.


Has anyone seen this before?  Is the BB2 board or video card getting ready to die?

Does the bottom monitor do the same?  If it does not, then connect the bottom monitor through VGA like it was the top monitor and see if it does the same thing.

that's a great idea.   I'll try it tomorrow when she cools down.

I hooked up the bottom monitor as if it was the top - through the vga connector and there was no distortion - same cable.


The bottom monitor is ceronix and the top is NEC.   When I hook the NEC up to a computer there is no problem with it.    


My next step is to swap MPU boards and see what that does

I've never had issues with my NEC monitor as the top screen on my conversion. I would try a different mpu, or a different video card.
