Hello,

I key chipped the machine. Have a Bill Validator Stacker Open Error and Options Verification Required. As far as I can see, the door is closed and latched. Not sure what to do next. Any help is greatly appreciated

Hey Paul, does you stacker have optics like a regular slot? If so check if there is a broken wire or if a wire that's twisted together has come undone. We get those errors occasionally and that's usually the problem. If like a regular slot, those wire can be disconnected, stripped and twisted together (wire nut the best way) and taped to bypass the stacker door. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dave. I am relatively new to fixing slots. Sorry if this is an ignorant question - Is the bill validator stacker door, the metal door on the small cabinet that houses the stacker that sits under the bill validator? I do see some wires coming out of the slots where the door latches. I don't see any type of optics for the actual stacker box ( the box that holds the bills that pass through the validator) Hope I'm calling things by the right names.....lol

Game King/I-games have a microswitch that is used to detect when the BV door is opened.  For home use it's easiest just to bypass it as Shaggy suggested.  Options Verification Required is an informational message.  Once you clear the Stacker Door Open error you'll be able to touch "OK" and the message will go away.

Here's a picture of the switch location.  You can pull the wires off the back of it and twist them together, or adjust the switch if necessary so the switch actuates when the BV door is closed.

Sorry, my reading comprehension sucks tonight.  Read it wrong, you have a stacker door open error, not a Door Open B error.  The switch I was referring to is for the BV door, not the stacker, sorry about that  .

Try pulling and reseating your BV can and make sure it is fully seated.

Thanks Tilt. Sorry for being dense but I'm not up on the part terminolgy. So the metal door that you show in your pic is not the stacker door? Is the stacker door the door on the bottom of the box that holds the cash?

When I power up the machine, I can hear the bill validator cycle. Also, I'm not familiar with this particular bill validator and how to remove it and re- seat it. Do I just pull on the silver bar at the bottom of the bill validator to get it out? I've included a pic of the bill validator and 2 pics of the box that holds the cash. The door on the bottom of the box was open even when I put it into the machine so I put a piece of tape on it to keep it closed.

I have pulled the bill validator can (now I know what to call it....lol) and re-seated it several times.

To the left of your cash can, you can see a pair of rectangular holes.  The top hole has the switch that triggers the Stacker Door Open error.  There are a couple of wires coming out of that switch.  If you just short those two wires, you will never get that error again, but you will loose that functionality (most home users don't care about it anyway).  You could also insert something into the slot to just jam close the switch if your validator door does not have the latch that closes the switch as you close the cash can door.

That switch is for detecting the BV door opening/closing.  You can tell if it's working by looking at the bottom of the screen.  With the door open you should see Door Open MB (main and BV door).  Close it and you should see Door Open M (the B disappears).  If it does that then the switch is working properly.

The stacker open refers the the cash can being in place or not and is detected by the validator itself.  On a JCM WBA validator it's a switch located on the bottom of the transport that detects whether or not the cash can is in place.  The MEI likely has something similar?  Are you sure the cash can is all the way in?  Sometimes you have to slam them in with some force to get them fully seated.
