Bally V32 Roulette Machine: Open Door L

Hi guys,


New to this forum. All the way from Australia. Just purchased a Roulette V32 and it comes up with the error Open Door L. Did some research and know it has to do with the Logic Board. Im a real newbie to what CPU and Logic Boards mean so I attached some photos if anyone could give me advice on how to fix this. Many thanks Cant use it until this is fixed.

The White plastic door switch on the bottom of the cabinet ,under the cash can/bill acceptor assembly, looks damaged. Start there by replacing it.

Cheers, for some reason the seller taped that down. I took the tape off and it worked fine. Should keep it off.

One of the power supplies on the left wall is missing. The logic door switch is one of the small door switches on the MPU. Usually there are locks on those tiny doors.

Top picture -- Left interior wall .. the 24V power supply is there. Just above that is where the 5V/12V power supply should be.

Center picture -- just above ethernet is a door that has a switch behine it and you can see the compact flash cards behind another door on the right side .. it has a switch on it too

I am pretty sure one of those two if not both is related to the logic door open error.

Logic door open.  With power OFF  unplug and document  where your cables were for reference (take a pic for yourself).  Remove cpu at that point by pulling straight back.  On right side front-bottom on main board there will be a two pin molex connector that runs to cpu lock into tray and logic door-(where cards go).  Think they are red and white with some stripped colors.  Unplug the connector- go back about 2 inches or so and cut/snip them.  Take the connector end now-strip ends of wires and connect-apply shrink wrap, tape etc.  It's just two wires at the connector.

Ken,  Many of the orginal v-32's only used one power supply.  If you look in pick you will see top power slot has the factory jumper installed.

The area in the red square.  You should be able to pull the connector out of the socket.  You can either do what 777sizzler said and cut the wire about an inch off the connector and just tie the bare wire together at the top and put some electrical tape around it and then put the connector back, or, if you have a computer jumper shunt, you can just stick one where the connector was.

Thanks for all your help guys, really appreciate the advice. It has actually worked now. I took on what Ken said I noticed the two switches and one of them had been taped with black tape but it came undone and tightened it up - nothing. Tried taping the other switch near the two game card slots and it worked! Appreciate all your help.


One more thing if its ok, I just played it and won a little so went to print the redeem ticket as noticed it was setup with paper to use but it came up with Call Attendant. Since the win was only $80 Im assuming the machine is automatically set to payout by attendant. How do i change this so all payouts are printed onto tickets.

Just because there's a printer in the machine, does not mean it is setup.  With the door opened, press the little white button on the mpu.  It will take you to a menu.  Look for cabinet or machine setup.  The select Device Config.  it will show you a list of devices configured during setup.  If the printer is disabled, you need to enable it (more on that later).  If the printer is there, then exit back to the main menu screen and select the comm button.  Com I should be set to SAS Primary and then if you select that, it should be set to standard (or system if you have a TITO system installed).

If the printer is disabled or you have something other than standard as the validation type, then you will need to clear and setup the game from scratch.  The person from who you bought the machine should be able to assist you on how to do that.  There's also a couple of videos that step through a typical alpha setup.  I made one for a Quick Hit 5 reel machine, but the setup is very similar to your Roulette game.  BTW, you have a really good cabinet, and a lot of good games for that cabinet are available. If you ever get tired of Roulette it is pretty easy to change it to a video slot.

You are entering the attendant menu (which you did by turning the reset key).  You need to enter the setup menu which you enter by opening the lower door and pressing the little setup button on the MPU.

Is it the white test button as i pressed it but doesnt work.

Yes, it's the little white button.  The button won't work if you jumpered the main door switch to be closed all the time.  With the game running in the normal slot play, open the bottom door.  You should get the open door M message.  Then press the white button.
