Model: Smash TV
Symptom: Graphics corruption. Parts PCB included

Focused on troubleshooting the parts PCB to use as a source of signal comparison to find the graphics corruption. U99 on Parts PCB was bad. Installed three custom logic chips back into their proper sockets and moved the battery backed SRAM and the EPROMs from the board with the graphic corruption. Tested. Graphics corruption on the parts PCB. Cleaned up solder bridges where four resistor packs were removed from the parts PCB and installed new ones to fix the graphics corruption and tested the PCB. Customer declined repairing the second board and will use it as parts going forward.

Model: Galaga
Symptom: Won't boot. Garbage on screen.

Replaced all the 24/28/40/42 pin sockets and unencapsulated resistor packs. Repaired a broken leg on the 00xx and the 07xx customs on the video PCB. Replaced 2x 08xx customs with excessive broken pins. Board would randomly reboot when tapped. Replaced a bad 2114 RAM on the video board and 74LS107 in the main clock circuit.

Symptom: Dead

Cust wanted a multi-game / high score save kit installed after repair.

Replaced dead CPU. Board booted to RAM Error 3. Replaced a 2101 RAM with dead outputs. Tested. Socketed the PROM at 6L, removed the CPU, ROM board, and character ROMs. Installed the multi-kit and tested.

Symptom: Distorted sounds. Install HSS kit.

Rebuilt the game boards with new encapsulated resistor packs an new 24/28/40/42 pin sockets. Tested. installed High Score Save kit. Retested.
