Printer communication Failure. Enhanced R Board.

Hi,  have used this site for a long time, very helpful, thanks for that.  I joined today.
  I am a reseller in beautiful Belfountain Ontario Canada, been in the coin machine business for 50 years.  Wish I would have put my energy into Brain Surgery somedays..

  So have some enhanced R boards I believe. I want them to operate on HAND PAY! Some games were sent to me with no printers and a couple with. I can not clear, "Printer failure communications". I have used RBK 0001 and 2. Leds on MPU, lights two green 4 yellow 2 green and flashing red after keying.  Have installed printers and no difference. I can get to printer at 7.1 but it will not allow a change.  Thanks for reading, all help appreciated.

So you want to remove the printers?  If you are adding printers, are they netplex printers?

Thanks for chiming in. The games have no printers, they were takin out recently looks like. I have a "Printer communication Failure" and don't know what to do with this. I tried installing a New gen x 2 to try to clear it and no difference. I am trying to key the board with RKB 0001 and a 2, it does not key, led has all lights on and flashing red light.

Can you post a picture of the board? ... or the part number on the board?


If the board is what is commonly called a 1270 and if there is also a message netplex link is down with a flashing red LED is usually -- the varta battery needs removed  .. and if you do a search on NLG there is a trickle charger that needs removed but I don't remember the location. Someone will mention the location and then remove it also. The board should work after that. If the board doesn't work after that then it is most likely dead.

You might also try a netplex config from menu 4 IO tests and see if your printer comm failure doesn't go away

PROGRESS!  it always helps if the RBK chip goes in the boot socket, not the base socket. Not there yet but something to work from.  Thanks for previous reply's.  I tried sending a pic, said file was too big.

Game not taking clear. Installed RBK 3 in the boot socket, followed the ram instructions, tried to lower the hopper to zero, as I am trying to get to handpay only. In limits it says, "Field Locked in Coinless mode" Also cannot disable the printer. No credits on machine.

I think you can press the spin button (one of the buttons) and it should open up the locked fields so you can make changes.

Printer - I think you have to disable it when setting up the machine after a key process.

Problem solved. Well I mean ..come on... 4 days!!  When you clear with the RBK clear chip, clear the ram, the Mother board, and set the key chip.
