Alpha 2 Pro V32 - Video Topper Question

I just picked up a new machine.  It has been a handful figuring out how to work this newer model.  With the great help of Rick Hunter, I have it up and running finally.


My question is,  This machine has a Video Topper.  It looks like it is connected to a board inside that accepts a USB Drive.  I don't see anywhere on it that it connects to the CPU.  My confusion was that I thought this topper updated with the game and as the game plays.  IE: Progressive info.  Right now it is showing some old game.  I did see the flash drive has this old game written on it.  Do I need a flash drive for every game?  Or is there a way to tie this into the CPU so it loads the current game info on the topper.

Your video topper is connected to what is basically a media player. There's an .avi file in the thumbdrive that it plays.  Certain games do not include support for a video topper, thus it would just be blank, so bally made video animations to play on the toppers.  Games that support the topper will display stuff on the video topper, but you have to move the vga cable from the media player board to one of the vga connectors on the mpu.  If I don't know if a game has video topper support, what I do is I always leave the vga cable from the video topper connected to the mpu.  If I get no image, after game setup, then I make a note of it, so next time, I would just leave the topper plugged to the media player playing some generic animation, like "Hot New Game".

They did make some early models that accept a sd card etc. on those toppers.  Just so you know.
