WTB: WMS BB2 MACHINE

I see a few for sale on here but prices seem out of line to me.  Does anyone have any nice BB2's out there at a fair price?  Let me know what you got.

A retail outlet sells them for around 1500, and tranny BB2's for 1000-1200, which actually would be the better buy. Can always grab a monitor for a few bucks to run vid while gaining all the reel goodies you got.

As with any machince-Make/model,  It depends if you want one straight from casino un-shopped-know nothing about it or want one out the box/gate ready to go.  you will see diff. prices and equipment that reflect the diff. prices.  BB2 is old stuff.

Those things are a dime a dozen-quality of them is the question as most of them are burnt up monitors, bad back planes etc. and nothing but shit after you spend the dough to make them right and the market is not bearing the price for a bonafied machine that's been re-furbished.  Most of this junk goes overseas.

All that's out there is junk, be careful what you buy. Personal experience.

I can attest that most of the BB2's that are sent off the floor, have seen better days. I would want to see in person the exact cabinet if paying good money, or pay low dollar with the knowledge it may need $2000 of parts and work to make it premier grade.
Common issues: OLED com issues(!), OLED appearance issues, failing belly door attachment, flaky switches, burnt monitors, failing video cards...Now for good points: Good main doors, fairly reliable monitors, solid logics(easy swap), solid PSs, SAS stability, good library of games, Bose, classy appearance IMO.
It's my opinion to fit NXT2 machines with classic button panels on games that draw the beater crowd.

Man I hate to hear that it is hard to find any good ones out there.  I will take all of your opinions into consideration.  Thank you all for your opinions.  I guess my last question would be should I be looking at a BB3 then?  I just want something nice that is going to last.  I have received a few PM's from some of you that look like you have some nice machine's so I might go that route.  Thanks again everyone!

Here is a parody of a BB2, not all machines are junk, you just have to travel further away than your grocery store (or liquor store for some) to get what is best for you


Have sold over 100 BB2 and probably 300 BB1, never had to replace a backplane, most that were said to be bad were issues with player tracking from hot swapping or other issues, I only have about 40 BB2's and sad to hear that sellers who have none have to say they are no good even though they never had one as we think they are great and very modular to play some awesome games, but opinions vary, that is why there are several flavors of ice cream


A few members here have the siblings to this machine as do I, no complaints and one even said "Museum" quality


This was 3 years ago when we had these machines, many may remember when nobody had them and if they did were more money and not mint. funny how just a few years makes these obsolete in ones mind since they are selling another platform.


It's like anything, say a used car, there are ones with low mileage and garage kept and then there are ones that were never washed and just had gas put in until they stopped running and prices reflect the differences

I love the WMS BB/BB2 games.  Like anything..."caveat emptor."


Get pictures, video footage of the machine working, etc., to help you make an informed decision.  Clicking "Buy it now" on eBay without any communication with the seller can be the kiss of death.  Believe me, it happened to me years ago, when I jumped in feet first into this hobby.  We live and we learn, but to say that WMS BB/BB2 is garbage, isn't true at all.

You have to really check out anything you get from Patterson (John) But he does get some good stuff at times.

I got 2 of Jim's Museum quality BB2 machines some time ago.  They were like new.  Still have them too and never had a problem with anything he sells.  Check him out.........stands behind what he sells too so you won't get screwed.
