Reel Strips Adhesion Issue

I have an Alpha S9000 5-reel machine. The strips on two of the reels are delaminating and lifting. The adhesive seems to be failing. I removed the strips and carefully cleaned off all the old adhesive then re-assembled on the reel using 3M 465 adhesive transfer tape. Within a short period of time one of the strips is lifting again. I can't seem to keep it down flush. I'm afraid of using more permeate adhesive like glue in case I ever need to remove them.

I also noticed that when the strip lifts, it starts getting noisy. The discoloration on the edge of the raised strip looks like it's rubbing. This is very annoying.

Can anyone advise me on how to properly tape/glue the strips ?

You might be able to apply a small amount of contact cement between the layers that are separating. Use something like a toothpick to apply it.

Clear tape folded over the end would hold it together but it would be seen so isn't an elegant solution.

You may be able to locate new or good-used replacement strips for a reasonable price.

I already tried the Scotch double sided tape and it failed miserably. I have some Loctite flexible adhesive for plastic and vinyl. I'll give this a try.

The permanent tape failed?  It's always worked well for me.  Clean off the old glue residue and put on new tape.  No issues after that.

Exactly what I did. I cleaned off the old residue then applied Scotch double sided tape.

I read somewhere that the manufacturer uses 3M 465 transfer tape, so this is what I tried next. It seemed to be a little better but still lacking on this one strip.

I suspect that these backlit reel strips stiffen with age and sometimes curl a bit. Mine is like trying to tape down a spring. It seems to have developed a memory. I'll try the Loctite adhesive mentioned in my prior message. In the meantime I ordered another set of reel strips for backup.

Wow.  3M molding tape would no doubt hold them together, but might be too thick.  I've used it to attach progressive displays to the top glass.
