IGT S model motherboard and harness issues. Can I convert to an S+?

Hello,
Just purchased my first slot, non working  I am told it is an S model but the tag says 3301 or something like that (hard to read). It appears to have suffered a short that melted a wire in the harness and did some board damage. I am not having luck finding replacements for these so I was wondering if converting to an S+ was an option. I see that there are more readily available parts for the S+. If not, is there a place to look for the parts needed? Any help is greatly appreciated.

picture of the inside of the machine would help!,  if the board is in the back and has three cable harness going to it, it is a S" model. some parts are interchangeable with the S+, reels, hopper, handle, maybe the coin parts, top and belly glass, maybe the buttons, but that is about it.

if you could identify which wire, in which harness was damaged, and why you think the board was damaged, it would help try and figure what caused the problem.

KLAR  they have a link on top of the home page, they repair "S" boards.
