Bally 6000 Bonus wheel game

When I power up the unit the top wheel spins counter clockwise until the system boots then stops.  Game plays fine until I hit the bonus game I get an 88-4 error. Did a ram clear tried again same issue. All the cables are plugged in.  I see there is a power supply in the top box that I assume is for the cash wheel.  Green light is on that unit.  There is a box on the back wall where the comm cable goes into.  I don't see any lights on it to tell me there is power coming to the unit, but assume it is working because the wheel stops spinning when the system boots.

88 is a " catastrophic failure "error.. do you have another MPU to try ?

Yes I do.  I hope it is that easy.  But the game played fine until the bonus game.

I had an issue on my money Carlo where the ball would only spin counterclockwise and my display was blank. I put in a new board and everything was fine. So they do go bad on occasion for whatever reason. Your 88 code is a catastrophic error as I'm sure you already know. Not sure what the number 4 is though. But being  as you already have  a spare board I would go ahead and try it.
