Hoper payout counter unit.

When I was working on the slot machine, I missed something, this payout counter unit for the hopper.
When I was reading the manual it stated the spiral cam unit should spring back to stop, it was nonort springing back. I followed the instructions and got a spring back when I manually release it.


Here is the problem, does the spiral cam unit suppose to reset to zero at the end of a win??? Is this how it works?


I'm seeing the spiral cam unit stay put at a payout and not returning to zero.

The spiral cam should return back to the starting point with the next coins played. It is the B Switch or C Switch that when closes fires the solenoid that causes the spiral cam to return to zero.

Looks like you're missing all of these pieces they should not be that hard to find I probably have a hundred of them I think I have one of the biggest collection of parts for these machines in the world but that's just me

I have the parts I was just cleaning it, now I need to get the payout correct.

The wiper fingers should be at about the 6 O clock position when at zero. Make sure the little roller on the chrome part is in the groove closest to center. When you have a 2 coin or 5 coin payout, the wiper finger will come off the wiper board pad on the 2nd or 5th coin paid. You can adjust the zero stop bumper to achieve this. Make sure that the zero switch open and closes. Your larger payouts of 100 and 200 coins are adjusted on the outer most wiper fingers on the chrome piece. You loosen the two mounting screws holding the wipers in place, then slide them left or right to achieve the proper payouts.

Ordered a new coil.

Reel assembly for the reset switch. I need to see if the circuit is working correctly.

After examining the reel assembly switch ive noticed this, I am going to look at this today, I have checked out the circuit, wires and now I have a plan of action. Since I'm not a slot machine expert I have taken this slow making sure I don't create more issues, I did solve the payout wheel, it was in need of cleaning, when I reset the unit by hand it would not reset back.


So thats the one issue solved, today I will work on the reel switch.

I was able to repair the bent relay switch that activate the reset coil, checking contact with the reel assembly in motion.
I checked the circuit between the reel and payout and it works excellent, the switch relays the reset with no issues.
Now, how do I check the coil to see what is the matter?

The switch for the reel to activate the reset counter is a PITA thankfully I found a photo of one that wasn't jacked up. 


I spent the day on the payout reset and I'm still not getting it to reset.


I've repaired the FUBAR switch on the reel to activate the reset coil. Then I checked the black/white wire that goes from the reels to the reset coil in the reset counter.  That works fine.


I checked the coil and its OK.


The switch activates the black/white wire to the coil, I checked the orange/black wire from the reels through the switch to the coil it works fine.


Now I need to go from here??

Thanks for the help, I contacted another form member who gave me ideas. After a whole day I conquered the beast.   


After a complete teardown of the reel switch that activate the reset coil, I straightened out the bent switch.


The coil was tested, cleaned and serviced, the wiring was tested.


STILL NO WORKIE.


I kept at it, reading the book, reading wiring diagram, finally I tested the stop switch and no connection, I took it apart and the contacts were upside down, fused together, burnt toast. After I straightened out the contact, cleaned the whole thing, the slot machine finally came to life and reset.


 




I've tested it out for an hour and it doesn't have any issues, payout is spot on. Everything works excellent.


Cleaning out the electrical bugs is a lot of work.
