DBV 200 won't do anything now... fixed the code 41 issue

So  took the bottom panel off the DVB 200  to see what sticker might be on the EPROM....   While out of the machine,  I cleaned the bill optics with a soft cloth.  Here's the pic of the EPROM:


Where  can I find out if this EPROM software is current, or close to current ?  From the attached info sheet it looks like  V2.61 -04-03  shows as the most current revision. Not sure is this is the most current info....


Also,  after putting the DVB Assy back in the machine and turning it on,   I played 3 credits to make sure it still worked.......LOOK  WHAT  I GOT  on my first hit !!!!

Congratulations on your excellent winning spin!  This just shows how random a slot machine is - removing the DBV-200, cleaning it, then putting it back in the machine wouldn't have anything to do with getting those three 7's. But it's still a nice feeling when a spin like that happens.

What you found by removing the bottom plate and looking at the eprom and its sticker tells you what the actual software installed is, that old sticker on the top of the DBV is no longer valid. The software in your DBV-200 now is ver 2.60-04-03.   (the JCM document you found and posted is for a different version (2.60-05), so that document doesn't apply).

There was one newer version of software that was released, it is called 2.61-04-03, dated August 2006. From reading the notes on its document (attached below) it looks like that update to the software had to do with improving recognition of $10 bills. So updating your DBV-200 to that software probably would not make your $20 acceptance any different. Hopefully a good cleaning will get it to work better with the $20 bills. You can also try other denominations, it should work with a variety of bills, although the latest $100 may not work since it got redesigned recently, and perhaps the latest purple $5 bill may not work either.

You could still do the update if you want to, since it is an eprom in a socket you'd just have to replace that eprom with an updated one.

To find out about the various software releases JCM came out with for your DBV-200 you can go to their website (link below).

Under "Hardware" select "DBV-200".
Under "Stacker Type" select "SS"
Under "Protocol ID" select "022/023".

Then click on Search at the bottom and the next screen will show you all the software releases over the years. Over to the right side of the search results screen there is usually a link to click for more information about the software, but for the older software the info they have is sketchy.

I actually did download the correct document, but must have had the incorrect one too.  I looked back at what I saved in my file and it was the correct one,  which you also had provided.


I think  I will let things be as they are.  All working now, and changing the EPROM  won't really help feeding it $20's.  LOL !
