S2000 double diamond 2007 ..i am having a hum noise in the side speaker

have a question ..can a bad simm sound card cause a hum in the speakers.. i am trying to trouble shoot if the sound simm or the sound amp is could be the issue..there are no error messages on the sound simm..i can hear a faint alarm when the doors opened..i was riding that this is a problem with these machines...input would be great

You probably have a 504 Rev A MPU.  504 Rev B or an Enhanced MPU won’t produce that hum.  Assuming that’s the problem.

It's the MPU, bad design. Replace it with the aforementioned 504b model or put a 1/4 watt resistor inline on all pos and neg speaker leads

That's not an issue with enhanced boards. You probably have another problem. Could be the speaker itself or the amp board. Don't cut your speaker wires to install resistors. You can swap the L & R speaker connections in the top box to see if the problem follows the connection or stays with the speaker for starters. Check the wiring for any bare spots too. Additionally it could be a bad SIMM.

That’s what I was thinking..when I saved the machine from a pawnshop here in fl someone had plugged the sound card into a power outlet on the netplex ..I got that rewired ,afterwards I could hear a faint alarm for the open door and figured it damaged the sound simm...thanks for your help. I will get a new simm and go from there.
