Help Identifying IGT machine Model #IWA97CW

Hello all, I'm a new member and need a little help getting some info about an IGT Wheel of fortune cabinet.


Model number IWA97CW MFD 6/95
Any info will help.

Photos are wonderfully helpful for questions like this. Please post a few.

When you are entering a message look below the message box, where it says "Attachments and other options" written in green. Click that and other choices will appear. Under where it says "Attach" click on "Choose File" and select the photo file you want to upload & attach to your message. Photo attachment file size should be 1mb (1,000kb) or smaller.

It's compete but the MPU board is shot.
I think someone stored it in a barn and a family of mice  moved in

A lot of times a photo of the mpu board will positively id a machine, so if it isn't a lot of trouble it might be helpful for you to post a photo of it. And if you decide to get a replacement mpu board knowing what the old one is will help anyone that has one for sale. Do you think the socketed & labeled game chips on the mpu board are salvageable?

It's a 13" Game King.  It will have either a 3802 or 3902 MPU board.  The wheel of fortune software is all EPROM based so it can run on either one.

Well i worked at IGT for year they never put a 3902 board in a 13 inch Gameking cabinet those board never came out in this cabinet  now someone have maybe upgraded to a 3902 but i don't think so we built those on a 3802 board and it's a eprom base game

Wow, yeah it is!  It's a 3903 MPU board.  Basically the same as the 3902 board, except the 3903 has the green varta telltale battery that is infamous for leaking and destroying boards.  Looks like something else got to yours first though.

You can try cleaning it up and see if it will work, but that looks like it would be a long shot.   You'd probably be better off getting a new 3902 board and transferring your game EPROMs to it if you want to keep the Wheel of Fortune theme.

Rockymountainslots...thanks for that information.  I didn't know that all 13" Game King cabinets originally had 3802 boards installed in them.

I would get some rubber gloves and make a sink of hot water and Lysol. Soak the board and clean it good with a brush and old tooth brush. Rinse and repeat till clean. Let it air dry for 24-48 hour. If the mice droppings and pee didn’t hurt it and same for the green battery’s acid maybe it can be saved? You should remove the mounting and take the board off the tray to clean. Don’t try drying with compressed air, I stand on end or a corner to dry and tend to use a paper towel to wipe up and large drops of water.
