So close to fixing it... just a little more help?

Hey guys, so that I can give you the full history play by play, it might help diagnosing...


Old owner: bought refurbished 2014
-plays a little end up unplugging it and leaving in the garage
-2017; old customer goes to play it gets error 61, reset method doesn’t fix it.
2018; customer sells me the unit. A 1996 sizzling 7s slant top.
-I order reset chips and battery...
-chips arrived first, so I reset it before replacing the battery.
-seems to of work as it should, error 3100 keeps triggering.
-realized the hopper wasn’t installed properly after the move and pushed it in while on.
-battery comes in.
-keep getting error 3100, remove the old battery, install the new one...
-machine powers on error 61
-click reset button, chimes error 61-1
-close it, runs everything and appears to work
-but now... I do not hear the coin mech turn on, and the coin acceptance light doesn’t turn on...
The coin mech did have a broken black going to it I resoldered. But appears to see no life... is there anything I can do to further test??? Thanks!!!

Hey guys...


I got it working!!! It’s a coin alignment issue dropping in to the coin comparator and back out... I have it rigged for now, but the one thing I noticed was, it only accepts 3 coins, it doesn’t allow credit build up... is there a way to change that setting without having to take chips out again. There is no BV. Thanks!

You're Sizzlin 7s is a type 0 game. An SP1137 will allow that to "tokenize" each coin and let you get up to 99 credits per coin. But you will have to replace your SP chip. Otherwise it can't be done. If it's a 3 coin machine, that's all it will take.

Dave, thanks so much for the reply. So it is a 3 coin machine. As in it takes 3 coins, but it has a credits line just like my other machine (5xs pay also slant top) I do have the chip to turn bill validator and other settings like that, is that the one you are referring to? Unfortunately they did not label the chips besides s+ bv on off and s+ reset and would you know the settings option once I change the chip to turn the credits on or off?

No, the B/V chip is a Set chip, most likely a Set15. I assume the reset chip is a clear chip. You would have to change the game chip in the machine to get the machine to take more than 3 quarters. It's not difficult to do, but you will have to buy a new game chip for the machine. You'll have to buy the SP1137 chip and a different Set chip also. It takes a Set 86 to modify the changes you'll need to make, so it can take more than 3 quarters. I can get you the PSR for the SP1137. You'll need that to get to the menus that make the changes. If you change to this chip and set it to take more than 3 quarters it will set the credit limit by default to 9,999. If you are not wanting to change chips, this isn't what you want. Just trying to give you some options.

I did not realize it takes so much just to turn credits on. For what it’s worth I’ll play 3 coins to the boards and leave it.
