Bill validator won't accept?

The bill validator on my S2000 won't accept bills. You can hear it go through it's start up process. Must have power. The bezel does not light up. In test mode the validator checks out and reads bills. The bezel lights up during the test mode. What gives? Thanks all.

I am going through the exact same problem on my IGT s2000 Double Diamond slot machine, Right now I am suspecting that it is the cash box ( a gray metal box with black plastic teeth )located under the bill validator, is cash can missing some teeth ( the black plastic things located on the top of the cash can )? Mine is and it maybe the reason why the bill validator won't accept bills

I should have mentioned it will not try to take the bill in. In test mode it does. ??

I have 1700 credits on machine after jackpot. I think this could be the issue. I read on the forum that the bill validator deactivates when you hit a preset limit.

That's good that it takes the bill in during test mode Maybe try to play some credits and see if the bill vailidaotr lights up again

It sounds like you might need to key chip this machine and change the credit limit. Each time I've responded with what key chip you need (unless you have one), someone else chimes in with the correct one.
So ... hang on and someone else will post soon.
Play $1 more and see if it will accept $1 as "itsaslotmachine" mentioned.

Was this bill acceptor work and then you think you crossed the max credits?

Thanks for the replies. Petty sure it's a max credit thing. I'll play the credits down when I get time.
