need help Game King

Need help Game King. i have a Game King thats been working fine for 3 year and the just playing one day and went to call attendant then to scrabbled color screen cant do anything battery is good so i tried to clear and start over but clear wont work all the lights on board are on can anyone help thank you.

What kind of mpu do you have? 044 or 3902?

I have one that did the same thing. It's a 3902 board. New battery installed didn't help. I put another cpu board in the same machine and it booted up ok. I think it is in the board it self or maybe the memory on the board. I will do some more test on it today and post more info.

Then it maybe the mpu board.  My 044 board had something similar, it was the varta battery that was causing the issue.  But an 3902 wouldn't do that, so I'm leaning toward a bad mpu board.

Ok, Took the Base Chip, Game Chips, PXL Chips and the CG Chips from the 3902 CPU board that was having the same problem as yours and I installed them in a CPU board that was good. The machine booted up just fine. So I took the all chips out of the good CPU board and put them in the bad CPU board again. pulled the memory out of the good CPU board and installed them in the bad CPU board. The bad CPU board would not boot up with the good memory in it. To me it looks like all the chips are good and the memory is also good. My best guess is there is a issue with the CPU board. There are a lot of members on this site with way knowledge that me on this stuff. I am sure they will get your issue taken care of. Best of luck!

Awhile back I had a Kenny Rogers do the same thing. Changed the game and it was fine. So it apparently was one of the chips or simm card.
