Author Topic: How can I tell what voltage the coin mechanism is on a IGT Double Blackjack slot (Read 9792 times)

On my machine when you put coins in its not picking them up...took out the coin mechanism and on back it's burnt...it doesn't tell voltage on it so how can I find that out....its a double blackjack igt

Post a photo of your machine to make sure what it is. But on the IGT S+ the normal coin comparitor is a CC-16D, it has gray wires that connect from the front going to the "rake" solenoid on the back. If something is burned on your present coin comparitor someone probably stuck the wrong type in the machine and zapped it.

thank you..im new and cant figure out how to get a pic up...but the one you posted is exactly like the one that just came off mine..so if thats what is suppose to be for my machine i think i found one..when comes in i will post if it works or not

Although your machine is probably an S+ it is better if we make sure. Saves a lot of wasted time if it isn't. Plus seeing what you have really helps everyone here to better give help.

It's not too hard to post a photo. When you are entering a message/post, look directly below the message box for the words "Attachments and other options" written in green. Click on that and then click on the button that says "Choose File". That will open up a popup that lets you select the photo on your computer that you want to attach. Click on the photo file and then click on "Open" in the popup box. That will put the name of the photo file in the attach box underneath your message here on NLG. Then just click on the button that says "Post" like you normally do to post a message.

Note: the photo file has to be 1meg or smaller in size.

If you can't get the photos to attach contact me (look to the left of this message for contact icons) and I can help by posting the photos for you.

you're welcome. Here is the photo you sent to me. You can take more photos, with the door open so we can see the inside. Take one showing the inside of the front door. And another one showing the interior of the cabinet so we can see the reels on their shelf and the lower part of the machine. The hopper just slides straight out, pull forward on it. Removing it from the machine will let you see better the other stuff inside the lower part of the cabinet. That's where the 2 main circuit boards are (called the mpu and the motherboard). The mpu is the one mounted vertically, it is attached to a large flat metal plate with a round black knob. The motherboard is the smaller board below the mpu that the mpu is plugged into. You can't actually see the mpu circuit board until it is removed, the metal plate it is attached to is in front of it.

Also take photos of anything you have questions about or that you think is a problem. Does the wiring that goes to the coin comparitor look ok? Has anyone done any mods to it, or does it look original? Maybe take photos of the coin comparitor, front & back, so we can get an idea of what happened to it.

Like you said earlier, this machine is an S+ and it looks like it has a bill validator. Have you tried turning the machine on and inserting a $1 bill? What happens when you turn the power switch on (lights, digital display on front of door, sounds, etc)?

When you get the new coin comparitor that you ordered you might want to show a photo of it before you install it into machine and apply power, just to make sure it is the correct model of cc.

On my part came in....installed it and now when I put a coin in it goes straight thru to the tray...can someone help...andwbere does the test coin go...maybe it's not in right slot....can someone help

The light on the front of the coin comparitor will not come on when the door is open. So don't worry about that. The sample coin inserts into a groove on the left side of the coin comparitor and then the sliding cover moves to the left to cover as much of the sample coin as possible.

In the lower right corner of the coin comparitor there is a sensitivity adjustment, it is a small screwdriver type of screw. You can turn it all the way counter-clockwise (to the left) and that will reduce the number of coins that get rejected. But this may not be your main problem.

Did you get the coin comparitor connected to its wiring cable properly? That's how the cc gets its power to operate.

If the machine adds credits when you press the little button in the lower left corner of the coin optics board (just below the coin comparitor) and then when you press the Spin button on front of machine the reels spin then that means most stuff in the machine is working. Just need to find out why the coin comparitor is not accepting a coin.

Make sure the left edge of the sample coin is inserted into the groove of the coin holder.

It is hard to tell from your photo if your sample quarter is inserted correctly. Make sure the left edge of the sample coin is inserted into the groove of the coin holder.
