Help identify this Bally machine for me please

Need some help finding out as much as I can about this machine, a manual would be amazing. Its been in my bosses shed at work for years and he wants its gone so i'm gonna buy it. It does work and needs 2 new locks for it as well. So any info would be amazing.


One thing to add if it helps, there is a toggle switch in the top panel (panel facing up). No idea what it does, well I don't think it works as its a bit floopy.

I think this machine is what is generally called a "Bally EM" (electromechanical). If you can open the door and post photos of the inside that would be great. Someone here should be able to tell you the model number or name. The "2p" denomination sticker makes me think it is an overseas model for somewhere in UK.

EDIT- I now see that the idplate says Ireland on it.

It is a UK model as i'm in the UK and this seemed a very active forum.

You are welcome here of course, we have folks from all over the world. Glad to see you and your machine! 

Hopefully someone familiar with the older Bally machines will be able to tell you more about your machine. Sometimes there are tags on the different mechanical assemblies inside the machine, and the tag has the machine's model number written on it. In general I think the particular model number isn't critical, the Bally EM machines had a lot of similarities from model to model. So any of the Bally EM manuals will probably have good information for you if that is one of the things you are seeking.

Thanks so much, nice to know what model it is as year.
Just need to get it home and start cleaning it up, think its going to need some cosmetic work. It all works otherwise. First thing it needs is new locks. Do you know what sort of locks it needs or just anyone? Also anyone know what a good condition would be worth?

In my option, due to its condition, I feel it’s not worth much more then $50 US Dollars. But prices very by location. Due to cabinet damage I see on the top corner and all it’s chrome or bright works bad maybe even less.

The cabinet is not in great condition, the corners are bashed and split and as you said the bright works is poor. Was thinking of (at some point) rebuilding the cabinet with new wood and veneers, dunno if other people have done that.
I'm getting it for £25 which is about $32.
My main worry be buying it and spending loads on it to getting it looking mint and it not worth much when done, any idea what a mint one would be worth?

The Price is Right!

You'll be surprised how well the Bally machines cleans up.
Be careful when cleaning the inside of the glass. As the silk screened graphics will come off.
The harshest solution I use is soap and water. Even then the graphics may wash off.
 Always test a small section when applying any chemicals to a machine.

It needs a 1 and 1/8 inch barrel lock for the door
Which can be purchased on eBay for about $7 us dollars
As far as the chrome parts it's usually less expensive to watch for them on eBay than it is to rechrome the parts on the door
I purchase and restore the rarest and most beautiful games bally made
Your game isn't a high demand game it's denominational (£ p) and the english cabinets are always messed up so in clean working condition here in Chicago $500
If it was a clean Australian version $800-$1000
Still a very nice find and at a great cost
No matter what you should be safe at purchasing this game at less than $50 you can always part it out and sell it in pieces and make $200 - $300 or even more
