Hi,

Is it possible to put an AS-2978-6 or 7 card in place of an AS-2978-3 on an e-1000?

Mine seems to have a problem is I only have a 6 and a 7 in stock.

yes you can use the e2000 mpu board - the m1 m2 m3 must be the correct for the e2000 - cannot use the ones from the e1000.

the cpu you have is an e1000 - you said you have the AS-2978-6 or 7 card which are e2000 cpu - the M1 M2 M3 eproms in your E1000 will not work in the E2000

Sometimes these are the same EPROM numbers on the e-1000 and e-2000 cards?
Is there a real difference between the two?

the game chip (m7 on the e1000 and P1 on the e2000) are compatible - the personality eproms m1 m2 m3 are different

Is it possible to test card 6 or 7 with the EPROMS already on the card?
Or could it break the card?

Yes, the two are interchangeable, the same M7/P1 chip will work in either one but the E1000 board has different M1 through M3 chips.

Hi

I just changed the cards but it still does not work
By cons now codes 50000 and tests are feasible
Test 2 does not trigger lights and coils?
Test 4 does not trigger the hooper
Test 5 lights the map lights
I changed the clock to 4 mhz
I wonder if my EPROM for this e-series 809 is still good?

Have you check the capacitors locate on the MPU board? Also have you checked the ribbon cable the connects the IO and MPU? Those pins on the ribbon cables plugs are very brittle. If they get bent itâ€™s almost impossible to straighten them with out breaking off. Also being E1000 series, check the connections on both ends of the small ram board mounted to the MPU. Those rot away from battery acid or fumes. Check the condition of those. Plus try cleaning the mounting pin on the MPU.

Yes everything is ok except maybe the capacitors of the MPU?
Or are they placed on a model of MPU number 6

Hi,
I tested my machine with the identical card (AS-2978-3) of another machine that works by changing only the M7 program
It does not work, but now the second machine does not work either
I changed the memories 5101 and turning on it gives as code 00.0.00
Thank you for your help because now I have two slot that do not work anymore and I think the EPROM of the first cause the failures.

It sound like M7 may be bad? These old boards are very Sensitive to static electricity.

yes I think M7 is bad on the first machine but what must be done for the second machine works?
And is it possible to find M7 for e-serie 809?

Can a bad eprom destroy an AS-2978-3 board?
Because the board of my second machine is now a code 00.0.00 or sometimes 7 (left looking) and the slot does not work anymore unfortunately after my test on my first machine.
