New machine. New problems. Reels hit door glass

Just got an S2000 machine that was tested and is supposed to work.  I started out getting reel tilt codes and started doing some research.  When the door is open and the matching gets turned on, it cycles like my S-Plus.  All reels spin, they stop 3-2-1 and all seems good.  Close the door.  only #1 spins and I get the tilt error.  Long story short, after messing with it for an a hour or so, I realized (easier to see with the lights on the machine) that when close the door, the #2 and #3 reels hit the display glass on the door.  Not like just a little bit of a rub, but by like about 1/8".  I pulled them all out to see if there is a way to adjust the depth of them, buy I don't see any way.  Anyone have any ideas?

make sure the reel shelve is not loose and tilting down, I've seen this happen when a screw is missing or it the tabs on the rear of the shelve are not in properly.  Also make sure the glass is tight against the door, not tilting back toward reels.  Are you sure reels are rubbing the glass?  Also check for loose wires that rub reels.

I'll look more at the shelf when I get home tonight.  I pulled the reels to see if I could see a way to adjust anything.   It all seemed pretty solid. Yes the glass is tight in the door, and yes  I'm sure they hit the glass.  I can see them hit and flatten out

Some reels really take a solid push to get them seated all the way, especially if they haven't been removed much and aren't worn in. I've had a few I thought would take a hammer to seat completely but finally pushed in. I've also seen where the plugs on the reels or sockets on the reel shelf weren't sitting right

That sounds feasible.  Especially if someone else had them pulled out too.  I pushed it back pretty hard.  But I'll check the plugs again and maybe use a block of wood and a rubber mallet to tap them back in

Since reel#1 fits ok and doesn't rub the glass you could try reels #2 and #3 in the reel#1 position to see if they work ok there. That should narrow down what is causing the problem, prove if the problem is the reel or is the shelf & connectors.

Also, I've seen reels that were out-of-round and would rub the glass when the high part of the reel came around. The reels had been stored in a way that something had pressed against the strip wheel (basket) for some time and they were not truly round anymore.

Well, I got home and gave all 3 reels a little tappity tap with a hammer, and that did it.  Gave me just enough clearance.
So now onto the new issues.  Should I start another thread?
The reels have backlights, but they don't light.  Do they only light up during certain "events"?
The bill validator works great. It was already set to take all bills. So that's good.  Problem is that it won't accept the ticket that gets printed.
Also, how do I program the printer to ping our name and set the date and time?

The reel back lights only come on during certain events such as a winning combination.


Your machine will not accept the ticket it prints because removed from the casinos network it cannot validate or authenticate it. You can add an after market device called TITO which will enable the machine to accept it's own ticket. See TITO in the classified ads of this forum. (First item)

To add data to the printed ticket, go to the machine options menu 3.1.10.1




Use the following steps on the Data Entry screen to enter the
establishment name and address that will be printed on all cash out
tickets:
1. The screen displays the current ticket data. Press the SPIN REELS
switch to navigate through the fields.
2. Press the BET ONE CREDIT switch to move through the
characters in a field.
3. Press the CHANGE and CASH/CREDIT switches to change the
current character. The SELECT list at the top of the screen displays
the available characters and numbers.
4. Press the PLAY MAX CREDITS switch to exit the screen and save
the changes.

That can't work (but would be nice!). If you think about it you'll see that would mean you could print a ticket for a "$bigbucks" amount at home, then go to a casino and stick it in a machine or redeem it at the cage. Everyone with one of these machines at home would be printing tickets for themselves and their friends. So they (casinos, gaming regulators, slot mfrs) have already thought of this loophole and prevented it from being a possibility.

As mentioned, you can install a privately developed TITO system, it uses your machine's printer to print tickets that you can insert in your machine and it will accept it. If the same TITO system is installed on other machines you own they will all accept tickets that are printed on any of your machines. Click below for more info on this TITO system. There is some limited ticket editing capability. You can edit the first two title lines of text where it says "Your Establishment" and "Your Location" and enter what you want.
