Does anyone know if Rocky Moutain Slots removes the green battery or not?

Hi, I'm curious if anyone knows if Rocky Mountain Slots keeps the green battery in the machine or not for home use? Thank you


I have an IGT S2000 Double Diamond slot machine that I got from them last May.

They didn't remove the green varta battery from the machine I purchased from them. I removed it myself. If you have the green battery on your board, I highly recommend removing it.

Can the varta battery be removed if it’s an enhanced board?  You can definitely remove it if it’s a 504 a/b board, but I thought the enhanced board required it.  Maybe I’m wrong.

How can I tell if my board is an enhanced or not? I heard something that the enhanced 1270 board required the battery but I'm not sure either

You can remove the battery on the 1270 board, but you have to also remove the transistor from board location U16. On the 500 series boards you just remove the battery. The easiest way to tell the difference on the boards is battery location. On the 1270 it's along the right hand edge and on the 500 series it's towards the back left

The enhanced boards also use a daughter board for the simm and eproms.  The 500 series boards, the eproms go on the board and the sound simm goes on a daughter card.
