IGT Game King 039 - Disable Printer & Keep Programming Help

Is there a way to Key 22 a 3902 board with Game King software & only disable the printer keeping all your previous game programming, denomination, percentage setup etc or do you have to start all over in default 12 games?
I know how to on an 044 with a flash, but have never figured it out on an 039
any help would be appreciated

Shouldn't be a problem. Just toggle down to apply key chip skipping the clear options. Must cash out the machine beforehand or key chip will not work.

My guess is you're using Key 22 when the proper key you need to use is Key 17. 

If you try to use the keychip only option from the Key 22 menu the game boots up normally and you never get to the keychip menu, but if you clear RAM/EEPROM as well it does correct? 

Post your Base/GME numbers and we can find out right key for your software.

The base chips I use are 526, 837 & 3 play 5 play, but don't know the number off hand.
It's been a long while since I've attempted a single change with Key 22, but I think when I skipped clearing & just applied Key it just booted up. I will attempt tomorrow & let you know. I'll also try it with a Key 17. Didn't know you could use a 17 on an 039. I thought 17 was for S2000s only.

Like Tilt said, 17 is what you want. 22 you have to do full clear.

I can also confirm the previous replies.  I use a key 17 on an 3902 gameking to change setting without clearing.

I tried 17 Key that I use on S2000s & a blank solid color screen came up, no options etc? I then used Key 22 & it just reboots.
This is an upright GK with 526 base software on an 039

That is correct for a key 17.  I believe mine screen turns purple if I recall correctly.  If you put your regular chip back in it should boot up to the keychip menu now.

Sixcardmark is correct.  With Key 17 the two end amber lights will light up when the keychip operation has completed.  Then put your base chip back in and it should boot to the keychip menu provided there weren't any credits on the machine.  I think you already figured that you since you marked it at topic solved.  Just clarification for someone who may run into this problem and found this thread.
