King of the Grill video slot says "Bill Validator Comm Error"

Howdy to all from Granbury, Texas!


My IGT/AC Coin King of the Grill video slot gave me an error today when I turned it on - "Bill Validator Comm Error"


The machine had not been moved or otherwise fiddled with since I last played it.


The BV does not cycle on machine start-up, and the small lights mounted on the door that light up the green plastic portion of the BV (where you put the bills in) is NOT lit up.


Can anyone offer any troubleshooting tips? Are there fuses in this machine? If so, I can't find them.

No separate fuses for the Bill Validator.  Since it doesn't cycle it sounds like yours may have failed.  Have you tried reseating it (pull it out and push it back in)?

Make sure your cash can is seated all the way in. If you have a door switch on the cash can door, you might want to try by passing it if not already done.

what style of BV do you have in your machine? is it a DBV, MEI, WBA, JCM? 


if it is a DBV200 those always have power issues, if it is one of those you can jiggle the power wires on the left side of the  bv(2 wire red/black if i recall right) and see if you can get it to cycle.




if you know you have power to the validator you could try the option below.
sometimes with the other validators i have pulled them out and did a netplex where the machine confirms it doesnt have a validator, then put it back in and re-netplex it.
