Weird is all I can say, some kind of error? Musical tones and the reels look like they are trying to line up but they won't for some reason.

Try doing a RAM clear.If your board has easy clear chips at U28 and U43 then the attached document should clear the board.

Not sure what chips I have honestly, tried the procedure but I didn't see anything on the front panel LEDs. All it did was the reel bump thing for a long time before I just shut it down. Attached are pics

Check the battery voltage.

Duh!! Lol, I didn't see a battery and after a second look I see there is no battery on the board at all. What voltage is the battery?

3.6V Lithium Ion with wire leads.

If there is a Batteries Plus near you they can solder in a fresh battery.
Make sure they remove the board from it's tray to do it properly.

Update, had a battery installed at Batteries Plus last week, finally received leave in main chips today. Installed them, flipped #8 on sw1, held test and psuedo coin and waited. Nothing, only the "Bally Pro Sound" message, a bell constantly ringing, reels doing a bump test, and the light above reset flashing about once a second. Nothing on the meters at all no matter how long I held the buttons, no error messages, nothing. Anyone have any ideas? Also, picked up a progressive display to replace the one that was missing, but that is another thing for another time.

Anything I can check on my end? Rather not send it anywhere, especially this time of year. I work for the US Postal Service and we are loaded this time of year.

Check the pins on the back of board where it plugs into backplane. If there all good more than likely it's toast.

Just thought about it, could it be that the machine is freaking out because some parts are missing? This was sold to me as a coinless machine but the BV was removed prior to sale, and there is wiring for a coin mech but that is also not there. Could it be that the boards are trying to initialize either of them but not seeing it and throwing it into an error state? Not sure if that would cause a problem or not, just a thought

It would still clear without coin or bill. It may throw an error after you got it to clear upon reboot if the dip switches were set for a bill accepter. I would send board for repair or purchase another. It could be bad chips who knows at this point.

**Update**

Got a new MPU from badbaud. kindof works, stops the crazy reel bump test now, but still no display on the credit/win meters at all, no more crazy sound, etc. Reset light still flashing every second and board to the left of the reels has flashing light, sound board if I'm not mistaken? Meters did work for a little bit when I first got this machine but now nothing, power supply problems maybe? None of the circuit breakers have tripped but haven't pulled the power supply to test voltages yet, next step is to test that and see whats up. Have to get progressive display installed too but not big issue as of yet, want to get it working first

Attached are your test points for the power supply.
Check them while in the machine with power on.
On the S5500 section there is a sticky on how to repair those power supplies, Bally recommends 5.16VDC for the 5 volt, all power supply modules have a onboard control for adjusting the 5 volts.

Do you mean test from the white plug on the outside or the inside of the power supply itself? *edit* Duh, it says connector, ignore my ignorance.

I did see that post you mentioned, I did download the PDF file in case it is the power supply and the recommendation of Jameco replacement if necessary. Thanks

Got all the DC voltages except for +24, not sure how to check AC voltages, my multimeter is a cheap harbor freight one lol. Only AC ratings on it are 200 or 240. But I'm guessing without the 24 volts DC, something is up with the power supply. Looks like I might be ordering that Jameco part next.

The +24 supply is a totally different power supply.
Basically a large capacitor and a full wave bridge.
It's ground is not connected to the ground of the +5, +12 and -12 power supply module.
I have never seen the +24 supply go bad. Try a different ground and measure again.
