S+ Haywire Power issue

i am rebuilding a Haywire slot machine ..when i got it ,it was stripped..no logic or mother boards or game chips..the power supply will light up the bulbs..i got all the parts in the machine and turned it on ..the wheels will go lock in place but will not post start up spin . there is no display and a buzzing sound on the logic board ..one of the 4 black capacitors  is very hot..the transformer on the logic is not hot though..there no burned wires or burns on either boards..i am trying to pin it down to a bad capacitor on the logic board or a bad transformer on the logic board..the fuses are in good shape not blown. Any ideas

One of your power diodes is shorted, they provide half wave pulsing AC to the filter capacitor to make the DC voltage.
If a diode is shorted it provides full AC to the capacitor, 1/2 cycle positive then 1/2 cycle negative, capacitors don't like reverse voltage (negative), result a hum and a HOT capacitor.

i found out that i put both chips in backwards and blew the chips..i reversed the chips everything cleared up a had to reorder the game and reel chips and pay closer attanting how i do it ..thanks for the response

And the capacitor stopped getting hot? Makes no sense.
