Bally s9000 No video after battery replacement

I have had a bally alpha american experience for a few months and it has worked great, i got a battery notification so i changed the batteries. went to plug it in and no video, piezo buzzer has a solid tone, no signs of boot. The MPU is 39456-0-0 Rev B. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe you have to use a clear card then reinstall the game after battery change on alpha.   Which clear card depends on which o/s is being used.

Yes as mentioned you must use a clear card and reset all your settings. Anytime the batteries are replaced on the Alphas the only way is to clear.

Update: i was able to get a 335 clear card, and when i put in the clear card, nothing, still no video and still a solid tone from the piezo. any ideas or help would be appreciated

Not sure what you have going on here. The last time I had changed batteries on one of my Alphas I thought I would use air to clean off the dust and when I reinstalled it I got the solid tone from the board. Never got the board to work after that. Had to replace the board. I guess using air was a no no. Good luck.

Are you sure you put the battery in correctly?

Changed all 3 batteries

that seems to happen some times, there might be a way around it, try the three switch power on drill.

first switch on the left, then the one next to it, lastly turn on the ATX switch on the cpu box.,  this may let you get up and running. but from here out you will have to turn it off in the reverse manner and restart it as above. but it will work and you can use the machine.

Sorry for the long delay, I finally tried the recommended power cycle, and no success, I tried every possible combination I could, any other ideas?  Thanks

Continuous beeps are never good on a system with soldered ram.  The continuous beeps is usually RAM related and on pc's you just replace them.  Your mpu does not have removable ram, so you will probably need to source a new one.  Sometimes reseating the cpu will fix the error, but since your cpu is pretty much under a heatsink, it is not likely that it moved around, plus I'm not sure it is socketed, my guess is the cpu is surface mounted.  The alpha 1 cpu's a easy to find and relatively cheap.  I would just buy a new one from a reputable dealer that can guarantee the cpu is working.  While you are at it, you might want to get a spare while the mpu's are cheap and plentiful.

I did actually pull out the CPU and it looks like there is actually a stick of sodim ram under the heatsink as well, might try pulling it off again. Thanks

Just reading your post.  did you solve the beeping issues after replacing the batteries?   I had the exact same problem this morning.  I was going to install a Tito in my machine and figured since I had to clear the board it was a good time to change the battery.  Well I guess that was not a good idea.
