clear credits

I am the proud new owner of an older RWB triple sevens 3 reel quarters slot machine.  It was build in 2003 and is the IGT S2000.  I had over 12,000 credits on the machine when one of my kids pressed the cash out button.  Now it says call attendant and hopper empty.  Is there a way to clear the credits without filling the hopper multiple times with 1000 quarters?  I do have a printer on it but it doesn't print the ticket either.  I have opened and put about 10 quarters in the hopper, then close it and it runs the quarters thru and lowers the amount still to be paid.  i've done this multiple times and am getting sick of it.  I have since read how to disconnect the payout button for future play once I get the credits cleared.  Any help would be appreciated.

You can use a IVC00223 to clear ram. If you use a 224 it will clear ram & eeprom causing you to set everything up from scratch with a key chip.


Another option is to remove the coin cell battery & boot it up. It will give an error. When you replace the battery & clear errors the credits will disappear. If it's an enhanced board the battery just slides out. If it's a 50x board with a soldered on coin cell,  just swap the 2 ram chips. Place RM1 in the RM2 socket & vice versa. This will cause an ram error. When you clear it the credits will disappear.


When you get that done go into the menu & change your hopper limits to a reasonable amount. 12,000 credit hopper pay is way too much. $100 or $250 is 400 or 1000 quarters. $250 is probably the max you would want if that much.

Thanks for the info.  I will give it a try and see what happens.  Another question... is there a manual out there that can explain how to do the programming and clear errors.  I am new at this with no technical training.  Although I am fairly proficient with computers and try to fix everything myself.  I've already read through a number of posts and I found a manual online at a different site but it was not very helpful.

Thank you for your help RB.  I was finally able to work on my machine and was able to clear the credits by removing the battery.  It took some figuring our but I also was able to clear the ram error and the machine is back to working great.  I was also able to set the hopper limit to a reasonable number.  In fact I put it at 1.00 because i'm never really going to fill it up. 

A new question though for you or the group.  Is there a way for me to somehow disable the cash out button short of duct taping a box over it.  I have kids who just can't resist hitting the flashing cash out button and i don't want to go through this constantly.  I'm not sure if the machine is set to pay with a printed ticket even though I have a printer installed.  The printer is old and i don't think it even prints tickets.  Not sure if there is ink in it or if it is a ribbon or how it works.  Long and short this machine is for fun only and I don't need tickets or coins to come out.  It is in my rec room and i only bought it for me and the kids to play with.  any advice would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Thank you RB for your help.  I was finally able to work on my machine and removing the battery worked.  It took me a little bit to clear the RAM Error but it is now working great. 


One more question though, is there a way for me to disable the flashing cash out button.  My kids and their friends just cant resist pushing the button and if they do I will have to go through the whole process over and over again.  My note doesn't seem to work.  Short of duct taping a box over the button I'd  like to solve that problem as well.  I was able to change my hopper setting to 1.00 but i'm not sure what will happen if they press the cash out button again with a ton of credits on the machine.  I usually load up the credits for them and take the money out.  I only keep about $5 worth of quarters in the hopper.  I have a printer installed but not sure if it works.  It is old.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Thank you.

If you set the hopper at a dollar try cashing out when there is 5 dollars in credits to test it.
Depending on your configuration set up it should pay out 1 dollar in coins and either print a ticket if you have a printer or require a keyturn for a handpay for the rest.
If it still pays out the full 5 dollars in coins then you know you don't have a setting correct. If it works correctly with 5 dollars it will work the same way with 200 dollars.

Note if it prints a ticket you will not be able to use it in the machine unless you have a TITO installed. If there are no tickets in the printer the remaining payout will default to a handpay requiring a keyturn.

One crude way... carefully pull the socket out of the offending flashing lamp. Wiggle it firmly as you pull down and it should pop off. Be careful though as they can become brittle. Once it's out, just remove the bulb and store it somewhere safe. Then just reverse what you did and firmly press it back in. OR... just tape/zip tie the flashing bulb and socket inside the machine, away from the button housing.
