IGT S+ Balloon Bars...How to get Coins to Credit??

I have an IGT S+ Balloon Bars .25 Machine. When I put in the three quarters...the coins go to the machine/hopper and I can play the game. When I try to put in more quarters...10 or 15......they all drop to the coin tray...I have the service manual but do not see this issue. In short...I want all the coins in to go to  credit. The bills enter just fine and they go to credit. Is this answer in the set-up?...??

Any help is appreciated?

No, you need a special SP chip for that.  SP1137 I believe will work.  May need a different set chip for bv too.(set86?)

I have SP1137. A SET15 works fine to set the denom for the BV but that probably won't be necessary if you don't clear the machine. PM if interested.

You'll need the Set 86 to set the machine up for how many credits each coin will add to the machine. With the SP1137 you can get from 1 to 99 credits with each coin you put in.

Just so you understand, you will still not be able to put in say 25 coins and build up credits. What the guys are suggesting is a chip that every time you put a coin in it gives like 10, 20, or 30 credits up to 99. Since your bill acceptor converts bills to credits, you should be able to pop in a hundred for 400 credits and play a while. I know some like to only play coins, but machine will only accept limit. So 3 coins at a time

Yes you can build credits with SP1137. The first coins inserted got to the game & extras go to the credit meter instead of dropping to the tray. Set15 will set the denom for standard operation. If you want multiple credits per coin inserted Set 86 is required.  Buzz turned me on to this SP chip years ago. I use it whenever possible.

The feature that a SP1137 (game chip) provides is called Montana Credits.

There are two chips the SS (reel chip) and the SP (Game chip) that control your game. Based on your reply it sounds like you might be concerned about swapping chips.
These two chips along with glass and the reel strips is what is called a "game kit" and its easy to change from one theme to another.
I have collected over 60 game kits for my machines.

The chips are socketed so its no big deal to pop them out and put others in.

With regards to the chips you have now - you can change many features such as hopper limits, reel sounds etc just by using the little white button on the inside.
