Lets see if someone can help me on this one. I have a Bally S6000 Bonus Times machine that I cannot get the bill validator to take any bills. It is a WBA. I have replaced the validator and transport with a known working one that I got off of World Wide. I have replaced the cable, Back plane board, Mainboard, made sure all dip switches are in the right location. The validator does not cycle on machine start up. It does light up with the 2 red lights and it will accept a bill in test mode. All switched are in the up position and where you insert the bill it lights up green on the door. Everything else works on this machine. Hopper and payouts work just fine. This is the only thing left that does not work on this machine. I hope someone out there know what is going on with it!

Do a RAM clear and see if it fires up.

Do you know if the WBA has the correct IDO software?

Yes. Checked double checked. Even WWG checked to make sure they sent me the correct one. Even tried the original WBA. I replaced it thinking that was the issue but the original one does the same thing. For some reason I can get it to cycle in test mode on both but neither one will work in game mode.

Check your DIP switch settings line DSW2.

Already tried this. All Dip on 2 and on the BV are correct. I have tried just about everything.
1. Did Clear
2. Checked Dip on 2 and all correct
3. Made sure cash box switch is working.
4. Replaced WBA and transport.
5. Replace Mainboard
6.Replace all cables.
7.Replaced back plane board.
8.Made sure there are no bent pins.
9. Made sure correct software on BV.

As Stated everything works except BV. All Dips are in the up position on the BV. 2 red LED's are lit. On door green lights are lit. The BV only cycles in test mode. I normal service mode the BV does nothing.

Not sure if this affects the BV, is the coin mech switch on the Outside front of the MPU in the up position?

As stated. Everything else works. I can play the machine with quarters just fine. Every thing else works as it should. This is just a BV issue.

Any time you change ANY switch on the 6000 you have to clear the board again or the change won't be seen.

Yep I understand that. And that is why I bought the leave in chips so I would not have to go back and forth if something changed.

A defective bill drop door switch is another possibility.

I( Believe The Bill Validators On Bally Machines Work On An RS 232 Protocol--
The IGT Machines--Do not.
(IGT Patented Their Own Protocol--Called "SNET"
To Use On their Machines)
So, You May Have The Wrong WBA Mech.

Same Is True For MEI Bill Mechs,
They Must Have An RS 232 Board, In Them, To Work With A Bally Machine.

All switches have been replaced. All cables have been replaced. All boards have been replaced. I have leave in chips for easier clear. I have cleared it several times and made sure all dip switches are correct. Everything works as it should perfectly! The only thing that does not work is the BV and thats it. Weirdest thing I have ever seen!

Thats the thing. I am using the original that I got with the machine and also have a new one that I got from World Wide. I have spoken to them several times and still nothing. When I bought the new one I bought the whole unit, transport and head together. They said they test everything before it leaves.

Are you doing a clear by holding down the 2 buttons till the lights start flashing? Full clear? Do you leave the machine at default settings after a clear? Or do you make some changes in the settings in the 11d menu after a clear? If you make changes in 11d , what setting do you change?

Yes I am doing a full clear. The only thing I change on it is the date and time. I also change the payout/credit.
