s2000 Game Change questions

I'm going to do a game change from a working Triple Red Hot 7's 3 reel 9 line to 3 reel single line Double Diamond Deluxe. Just making sure I’m thinking this through correctly.

(Big thank you to RB and Jim for the additional parts I needed to do this)

Current configuration: TRH7’s
3 reel 9 line
Multi Denom touch pad (.01, .01, .02, .05)
6-6-3 display on bottom right
VFD bottom left
9 line display top left

Printer works, MEI BV works and accepts new $5’s.

New Intended Configuration: Double Diamond Deluxe
3 reel 1 line
Multi Denom touch pad change to (.25, .50, $1.00, $2.00)
6-6-3 display
VFD bottom left
**Add Bettor TITO - with service button adding credits

Couple questions on the intended procedure.

I have two 802’s installed in the working Triple Red Hot 7’s and one spare 801 and a 601.
Are there specific I/O card(s) needed for Double Diamond Deluxe?

I read somewhere here it's a good idea to put the new SB chip in before taking everything apart to confirm the chip works.
Do I need to key first, or just put the SB 89 in to check?

Currently no Bettor TITO installed, but I have it ready.
Should I do this before taking everything apart?

Once SB chip is confirmed, change the button panel, strips and glass, remove the 9 line display, etc.
Then Clear / Key or just Key?

Missing anything or need more info, please let me know.

Use the 801 I/O when you change the button deck. I would change the hardware first but it's your call. You only have to clear if you wish to change the accounting denom from 1c to 25c but it's not a necessity. A key chip should handle the rest. Testing the SB is again your call. If you do, leave it in after you clear the errors. Then it's a simple key chip to complete. Install the TITO after you have it functioning with the new SB.
