Quarters not registering from the hopper on a cash out
« on: February 23, 2019, 10:42:39 am »
I have an S+ Hot Peppers machine that when I press the cash out button, the hopper drops out @ 20 more quarters thn it should & they are not counting down & registering for any of them & then I get the 3300 error code. Obviously the optics in the hopper are not seeing each quarter pass though & not counting them down.
Is it possible those optics are bad or could I check some other things too? Thanks

Sounds like the hopper brake is not working, it is spring loaded.  Check the bottom of the hopper for a spring that may have come off, or too loose.

Well I just removed the hopper & emptied out the coins, looks like this hopper that came with the machine is for 1/2 dollar or silver dollar machine because the notches on the hopper wheel are not the correct size for a quarter but it dropped them just fine, could that be the problem if its not the brake?

Bad coin optic or it could have been dirty, swapped it out from another spare hopper & it's paying out fine now other than dropping a few extra quarters, probably because the coin notches in the hopper are too big. Thanks for responding.

It may have been the coins are too low (due to the wrong disk) that they are not being seen by the hopper optic.

 :I_agree_1:

This is the correct answer.  The coin-out optic on the hopper is not seeing every coin exiting the hopper and thus paying out extra coins.  Use the correct coin handling parts for the coins you're using and you will be up and running.
