LED Upgrade

I upgraded the lights behind of the feature glass in my Nugget Continental.  I am really impressed with the crisp white light.  Here are a few pics, I left the old bulbs in one column to show the difference.

Looks good!   I've never even thought of upgrading those.  I just keep replacing them with regular bulbs. Where did you source the leds?

Amazon, I just searched for #44 LED bulb and it came up.  Packs of 10 for $12.99.  The company name is PA.  They have other colors too.
Best part is there is no heat generated, or very little.  So it will save paint.  I also got 12" T5 fluorescents, that are LED equivalent as well.  Much better color and brightness.

What does the feature glass look like when installed. Do you have the 12” lcd bulbs installed in the one pic? Did you put one in the reels bulb?

I have found that the feature glass doesn’t look quite right


with the colder bluish light from the LED’s.


I have some yellow LED’s In my 873 that look pretty good though.

Trial and error, fun slot machine times!

Just saw that clamp on work light as well.  Pretty cool idea.  I've been using a magnetized strip light, but sometimes the angle doesn't quite work out and I'm left with glare into my eyes while working certain parts.  I'll have to get one of those as well.  The one advantage to the magnetized light is that it can be placed way inside the machine as well, but having both lights will give the best possible lighting for working on the machine.

I have not installed the LED tube yet. 

I do not see any of the blue light from the LEDs, and I think it depends heavily on the type LED you buy.  I just see a much brighter light and less yellow with these.
