Hi.
Just recently restored my old S2000 roundtop w/10-button deck.
MPU Model:1952-0 (otherwise known as the "502" board) w/ MML2 Sound Sim board.
SB100354
SG000597 (GME1&2)
Version VS011GX1

I have a couple of questions:
What would be the particular Flash SIMM card that snaps into the multimedia board socket?
The game sounds fine during regular play but when I hit the bonus free spin rounds, I don't have any sound at all.
I'm presently using a DSS00184 card in the MML2.

The other question I have is has anyone figured out what the [J1] 9-pin header on the MML2 board do?

I think DSV 00082 is for dd free spin. DSS simms are for I-games (and maybe reeltouch?)

I think mark is correct. DSV00082.

That is a JTAG header for programming firmware into the XILINX CPLD chip. Not something us mere mortals would ever use.

I popped in a DSV00082 SIMM in there as Sixcardmark suggested, hit a bonus round and have decent sounds now!

However, I lost the roll-up "melody" I liked

( It's no longer an option in the settings anymore).
Now it plays the annoying "ding ding ding" counting credits sound when you get a hit during regular gameplay.

Thanks for the info on the [J1] header Tilt...was just wondering what that was for.
I understood the four dip switches were for programming as well - in case anybody was thinking like me.

You get one or the other. If you want it to play melody during the bonus rounds using the dsv00082 you are stuck with ding ding ding on normal pay.

That's probably why you took the theme out in the first place

Well that sucks, reminds me of R boards. Great bonus round sounds, otherwise s+ sound. What does a 042 sound like?

The dip switches are actually not for programing, they are for reading. There are four different dip settings: sound (dss and dsv are all off), and 3 different pxlf settings.

Haha! You almost right there Q!
I was moving between homes though and stored the S2k away for a few yrs.
Absolutely hate that "Ding, ding, ding" sounds at home....don't mind it so much at a casino when I'm playing for real but I actually have my finger ready to hit the Spin button twice immediately to avoid hearing the credits count up!

Yep! Still sounds like an S+ most of the time Six!. Oh well.

I did have quite a bit of fun playing around with sound bytes on Vision CF cards though.
On that platform, I was able to add the Beverly Hillbillies "Y'all come back now" banjo-sound byte from U tube, into the Ticket-Out mode sound instead of "Clank, clank, clank, clank, clank"!
