S2000 Bill Acceptor not taking bills

i have an IGT S2000 with a MEI 6602 bill head and a JCM faceplate with the
LED lights.  I have the bill acceptor enabled in the menu, but it does not cycle upon powering up.
All three lights are lit on top of the MEI bill head, and the blue ambulance light is blinking on the faceplate. The bill acceptor was working before removing the Varta battery.  Are there any other settings that I may be missing. I set bill acceptor limit to $1000.

You have an MEI bill head with a JCM smart bezel, didn't think that would work!  In any case the 3 lights on the MEI means there is an issue, only the green light should be on.  Pull out the mei bill head and reseat it. if you are still just getting the 3 lights, your interface board might have gone bad.   Pull the mpu out a bit and power up, does the MEI do the same thing?

The bezel definitely was working with the MEI and the LEDs raced around when it was working. I have a friend that will bring his MEI head and Interface board tomorrow and we will try it. Thanks

I swapped the Interface Board with my friend and also the bill head. We noticed my Interface board was missing the metal lever that is activated by the cash box. I taped the micro switch closed and my validator still would not cycle. We put his bill head in and reconfigured the Netplex Devices and it started working. I will order a new bill head and I should be good to go.
