Old machine, old problem - S Plus stuck at 61 [SOLVED]

I just got my first slot machine last week and of course it was DOA.  After 3 days of reading forum posts I was able to get it on through a fuse replacement and cleaning the white power connector pins.  Now I am stuck at the "61 error". When I press the white button the display goes blank and withing 3-4 seconds the 61 re-appears.
I see there are a ton of posts about this and various success stories but I don't see much about being unable to get to 61-1 without the use of a clear chip.  I don't have one of those yet but will order one if that's what it takes.
1994 S Plus Wild Cherry coin only (currently using tokens)no bill validator although it looks like it had one at one time. The cash box is there but no switch.  There is a Green/Blue tied to a Green wire probably simulating the switch.

Any advice would certainly be appreciated.

Yes order the clear and set chips from a supporter on this site, I was new to these machines and fixed error 12 then the 61 loop became the next problem ordered the chips, followed instructions and good to go now.

S+ clear chip ordered based on advice.  Will report results when I try it.

The Ram Clear chip did the trick.Ran the clear process, reinstalled the game chip - got error "61" - pressed self test switch and got "61-1" - closed the door and turned the jackpot key switch and got error "65" - opened door pressed the self test switch again - closed the doors and the machine is alive.  Got a one time error of "3100" but an open and close cleared that.
