I'm thinking I might have a bad game ROM but I wanted to run it by the experts here first.
Trying to install Viva Monopoly on my BB2 with Standard panel and fooler card installed.
I have tried 3 different OS cards 9.22, 9.25 and 9.27 all give me this same error.

That is after a ROM clear so that no HDD Directory is normal.

It tells me that every time I load a game. I have loaded other games since this. Just says no directory, it has to be created by the OS and game ROM.

yes, that typically is a bad image on the card.

Your evaluation is incorrect. /dev/sda in linux is a mount point to the hard drive, so if it cannot find the device or the device has failed, it will show the error on boot.  The system is unable to find the hard drive on your mpu. It is either bad, or the cable is bad.  I would replace hard drive to fix that particular issue.  The reason why a game has worked before is because it will work without a hard drive, it just loads slower.  The reason you can't load the current game is because your game card is failing validation (it has an invalid game image on it).

The HDD/mount point is irrelevant. If the game can't create the mount because of the bad flash you won't have that mount point on the HDD. The SSD is good along with the cable.

It has been my experience that anytime that mount point and format failures has shown up during game loads, it is because there's been a failure in the storage device.  This will be my last contribution to this thread as I will respectfully bow out.

I already bowed out and deleted my post identifying the same issue Rick.

So as an update I decided to load up a new game and disconnect my SSD to see what happens.  Then clear and reconnect the SSD.  See photos attached for the results.........This will be my last post in this topic.

Sorry if it seemed like I was being confrontational. I really wasn't trying to sound that way.    Viva Monopoly is a new game I bought and I have never played it before and we were trying to determine if the OS or the Game was the bad part since every other game works just fine.


I get that HDD mount point not found after I do a Clear NVRAM/EEPROM on every game. It was my assumption that after the clear was done and the new OS was being loaded it was doing a format of the drive and thus the mount point was removed by that. It has been this way since I bought the machine on both the original HDD and the SSD so I thought it was normal.


The process as I see it.
1. Clear NVRAM
2. Install OS and Game cards
3. OS Formats HDD
4. OS installs on HDD (while installing I'm told hey mount point isn't here, let me create that for you)
5. Game Installs on HDD

Your test, was that using the same OS version on each game and did you use a clear card before each install? I'm just trying to figure out that if that is what you see and everything works for you why do I see something different and everything works fine for me.

Not to open a can of worms or anything but I wanted to post what I found with the HDD not found part.


Firstly it was my misunderstanding that a HDD had to be present for the games to load. Thanks to rickhunter for pointing out that a game will still load but only to the RAM.
My confusion was, by him and idesign saying my HDD or cables were bad didn't make sense to me since when booting it would identify the name of the drive and size at the BIOS screen and I could physically feel the mechanical drive spin up and that is why I was saying my drives were good. I later found out about the hard drive list in the diagnostic screen and it listed no drives found.


I pulled out the SSD and decided to completely erase it with Gparted which I thought was done when I formatted the drive to ext4 from NTFS initially. Not so. Evidently the person I bought the BB2 from had replaced the drive at some point and like me didn't use a new drive but a used one and it didn't get setup correctly either.


So from the get go I had always seen the No HDD and mount points and thought that was correct because I though that after using the Clear card it was telling the OS Flashcard that there was no directory and to create it and I thought that was what it was doing.


By doing an erase of the SSD and making it look like a brand new drive I was able to get the OS and game to load to the SSD. So that part is solved.


Again I say I'm sorry to rickhunter and idesign for not understanding everything completely. I know they said they have bowed out of this thread but...
