s2000 enchanced, 5 reels- reel 4 doesnt spin, gives error

swapping reels doesnt move the problem. the not spinning reel does have the same stepper like resistance of the good reels when powered up and you move the reels by hand. could it be the cabinet I/O board? can it be swapped with another I/o in the game to test? where is it located? i have a working s2000 3 reel, but im guessing it has a different I/O board?

Are you sure it isn't simply the reel connector not fully seating ? I have one machine which has a loose mating connector. When installing the reel I have to reach in behind and reinforce the mating connector while seating the reel. Once fully seated it operates fine.

The reel stepper motor controllers are on the MPU.

The only thing the Cabinet I/O handles for the reels is the backlight controller.

Do all this with power off
MPU fully seated into motherboard
Reel harness fully connected to motherboard a long black connector on motherboard
each reel fully connected to harness, just like dailey posted

it was the mpu. i had another one( i didnt know i had) , and it works well

Save that MPU. It might work fine on a 3 reel machine.
