Wow, at first I thought the ad was a typo, nope. Just picked up this behemoth, I tried to research a little bit all i got was a minor reference that it might an IGT s+ XL. The guts seem to be like s+, anyone have one of these?

Typical error 12, battery getting ordered and gonna get chips cause lost mine. Seems to be in good cosmetic condition, anyone aware of pitfalls I should look out for?

Is it really called an igt s+ XL, or does it have a different name? Big daddy s+? MONSTER Slot s+.

I took this thing off the truck by myself...maybe Back Breaker s+?

The door is significantly heavier than a normal door, but luckily it's well balanced. I haven't weighed it, but just to move the machine in the bed of my truck, I had to climb on top and leg press it out.

The owner said it weighed "250lbs", so at first I was like nice, it weighs the same as a normal slot. Too easy. There's nfw it's 250lbs.

It's awesome standing next to it, and I've yet to see one for sale in the SW, so I'm happy so far. Noeni just need to make it work.

So what is it actually called , just s+ XL? Or does it have another name? Anything I need to look out for, or just treat it like an s+?

What would you value it at in comparison???

IGT made a "Mini Bertha", a "Big Bertha", and a "Colossus" which all used S+ components.

The Colossus was the incredibly enormous machine you'd see near the door at some Vegas casinos, where each reel was the size of a person.

I'm not exactly certain what the difference is in size between the Big Bertha and the Mini Bertha. Yours is one of those two, however.

The nice thing about an S+ is that it could become any other S+ just by changing the chips, the reels and glass.
I suspect that this would basically use all the same components as a regular s+ but the reel baskets are oversized. Even the stepper motors are likely the same.

The challenge with this machine would be finding alternate game kits. I am sure you could get glass and strips made but they are going to come at a cost higher than what you would find a game kit for on ebay.

Big Bertha is back from the dead!!!

Did a battery replacement, came back intact. I'm getting intermittent issues, but I think it's optics alignment or weak sensors, not sure. I have an extra pair somewhere, but I definitely hate aligning these gd lights.

I have one more problem though, which is probably just stupid. I bought 200 gold coins from a cruise casino, they aren't accepted. The old silver coins I have from Vegas work. Same diamter, gold coins are heavier. Does thickness matter? Not seeing a spot to decrease sensitivity, I'll post pic of the model soon maybe it's something obvious .

Or maybe I have 200 gold coins I'm gonna give to my kids as treasure...

Glad to hear she is working! Did you put a gold token in the comparitor? You probably will have to use one style token or the other.

So I'm dumb and am only used to the sizer coin being on the outside. I popped it open and of course there's a coin there. Put my gold ones I'm and it's fine.

Still struggling with the optic alignment again, I hate this. I'll probably just do what I did with my aristocrat 540 and just mate them.

I smashed two sets of wires on the door receiver optics trying to align them, still not sure why. Very frustating

Patience is the key
Use small zip ties to control your wiring
There should be some little knockouts in the sheet metal just for zip tie mounting.
Take your time....it's a hobby, not a rush job.
