Hello everyone,


I inherited a 1997 IGT S+ 'Double Dollars' slot from my father. It had some issues that I resolved after reading posts/faqs on this forum (thanks!). My wife and I enjoy it a LOT and it's much better than giving money to a casino, lol. Anyway, twice now, we have hit a jackpot that should've paid 400 coins, but it doesn't. It rings it's bell and you have to use the attendant key to reset it. Right above the reels it states that it pays up to 1000 coins. Is there a setting somewhere that controls this? We kind of wanted to video it spitting out our 'winnings'!  :applause:

Welcome to NLG.
The 10th item down on this forum says hopper limits.
Follow those instructions on how to change the settings.

One more question. How do I make the settings 'stick'? I've tried pressing the test button again, cycling the menu, and randomly pressing the play buttons, lol. It doesn't seem to take. The 1 & 2 DIP switches are both on as well.

dip switches 1-2-3-4  have to on in order to set the limits to whatever you want,  if they are not all on then you are locked into whatever the program sets for that dip switch configuration,  read the S+ diagnostic cards in the S+ section,  second topic,  these explain every setting in your machine,etc.

Make sure there are zero credits on the machine when trying to adjust any credit or hopper limit settings. If you have credits on the machine you must play out or cash them out before making changes.

I didn't really get much from the cards. I've found what the settings are, etc. DIP 3 & 4 need to be on for hopper limits? It looks like just 1 & 2. Hell, I'll try it though.
I can currently get to the settings and make the changes. It just doesn't 'save' that way. It defaults to 300. Maybe my DIPs aren't working properly as off/off appears to force 300. I'll pull it tonight and see what I can figure out.

You must turn ON dips 1 & 2 for hopper limits to be programmable.  1 & 2 OFF sets it at 300.

Yep. I'm a moron, haha. I was mis-reading the DIPs, thinking off was on and vice-versa. We're all good now!

those cards will tell you everything about your machine and all the settings, it takes the guess work out of troubleshooting.

in your case if you looked at the menu that starts with 5_0,  each time you hit the change or service button, it will step you through that menu, the last information in that menu is the status of those dip switches, it tells you in the winner paid what each switch is set too, a 1 = on, a 0= off.

so those cards are very valuable when you have a problem.
