  Hello, I have a I G T Go Banana that I am working on and need some help, the problem is it doesn't work.
     when you power it up the wheels start spinning and won't stop, the bill acceptor circulates  I drop 3 quarter in nothing happens no credit register, you cant pull arm down
     I open the turned the Jake pot key it stops spinning, but still won't register coins
Could the boards be bad in it ?  I tried to post a small video be it wont post thank you.

Never heard of a "Banana" machine. There is an IGT game called Go Bananas that is a Haywire clone. Open the door & turn the jackpot reset key. That should stop the reel tilt & might resume play depending on what is causing it. It might just tilt again. Post a pic of the machine.

Try opening the door, turn the reset key once, then close the door, making sure it's latched - and see what happens.

With the power running, wheels spinning - open door, turn KEY switch on the side once (and nothing else), then close and latch the door. Don't touch the white button inside or the main power switch.

Just tried that nothing happen. I put three quarters nothing happen it didn't even register
 what else could I try.

Stand by. Don't bother putting quarters in the machine at this point. We need to get it to boot up properly first. Did the machine ever work before or did you get it in this condition?

The reels on an S+ don't run slow like that at power up normally.  I'm thinking there's probably something wrong with the MPU board.  I would give that a try first.  The validator doesn't act normally either, do you have a cash can installed?  It sounds like it's trying to do it's initial tests, but something goes wrong and tries again.  The MPU's for these machines are still around and are relatively inexpensive (most of the time under $50).  It is worth an investment to have a backup, just buy one that is known to be working from a reputable dealer here.

lets start over:  when you turn on the machine, what does it do?  have the reels stopped turning?

if the reels have stopped turning, with the closed and latched, are there any numbers in the displays?  is the insert coin lamp on?   if the reels have stopped, no numbers in the displays, insert coin lamp on, OPEN MACHINE, locate the optic board (directly underneath the cc-16 coin comparitor) on that board (provided there is no cover over  it) directly beneath the connector you will see a small white push button, this will put credits on the machine and allow you to play the machine with the door open. try it!

also go the the section in the forum topics on S+ machines, there is a wealth of information and pictures that may help you to identify some the parts of your machine.

Jim in the video, the reels spin slowly after power up, with our without open door.  This suggest a malfunction in the reel control part of the mpu.  Also his bill validator fails the initial power up diagnostics, it just keep cycling until it times out. I suspect a cash can insertion issue, maybe bad gears as well.

I agree...I'd be re-seating the cash can to see if there's any difference.

I also noticed the door optics aren't changing in the [Total Bet] display when the door is opening and closing...

3100 is extra coin out, that is also what the 1 means, it paid a coin, or it thinks it paid out a coin.  The 3100 error is usually cleared by opening and closing (and latching) the main door.  The blinking light goes away when you play the first game after power up.  Your on-going issue is your slow reel spin that never ends.  Looks like a hardware failure of some sort.  That is not a normal behavior on an S+.  The normal boot sequence after power up is, the lights come on, the reels stiffen (but don't move), the bill validator cycles one time, and after about 5 seconds  the reels will spin at normal speed (faster than what they look like on your video) for about 3 seconds and will stop at the last game played.  Then the machine is ready to accept coins or bills.  Until you solve the slow reels spinning, you are not going get anywhere else.  I would also suggest doing a clear to see if it changes anything, but you will need a clear chip to do that.  The other way, you could do more damage, which involves shorting the CMOS ram.

So should I take out the coms chips and clean them or should I buy a new board

what condition is your board and motherboard,  any damage ?  take a picture of the board and post it.

also what chips are in it.  the SP chip and the SS chip.

also, take some pictures of the bill unit, so we can see what is there and what may be missing.
