New Series E - Need help!

Brought home a Bally Series E this weekend.... cannot find ANYONE in the DFW area who will touch it.


When I had it home, it was somewhat working:


*Coins would fall thru
*Handle would pull
* Reels wouldnt stop...at all.


I tried to Reset/Test...may have overdone it.  (Frustration)


Now it is locked and displaying this code.  (see pic)   1.0..6


I know there are some experts here that can help a noob like me.


I have an IGT S -plus and it makes more sense to me and can do some basic things.


But this one is a challenge.


ANY help or names of local folks that could assist would be most appreciated!!

Off the top of my head, I would suspect one of the bipolar proms, U17 or U19 on an E2000 MPU board  U21 or U29 on an E1000 board.
I would first try to resolder the connections on those boards and see if that helps and as long as you have the iron hot justas well touch up the two buffer chips (8T97).
If that fails then perhaps it is time to send the boards to https://www.slotmachinerepair.com/werepair for repair,the head technician for that site is also a member of this forum

Check your Power Supply’s plug for burnt connections. That the board behind the hopper with the 20 pin plug.  You could try wiggling that plug too when the machine has power. If you have a voltage meter you might want to test the PS voltage outputs. Do you have a manual explaining how to run machine tests?

Great ideas, thanks and I will see what I can do tonight.  I do have the manual....and tried to run some tests.... but then I hit this error.. 


I previously saw the 8.7.0.0.0.0 code and some others so I assumed all was ok....but after I hit reset, it was all over (

If this is a E1000 series with the piggy back ram board on the MPU, you might want to inspect those board connectors for any signs of green acid damage.
